My car is a cute little one, but sadly to very clean right now. I need dh to or row it again, he gets all edgy with it and goes nd gets it cleaned and vacuumed.

Dh's car is black and shiny and VERY fast, but is only a hot hatch style, not some upper class bug car type.

Gosh Viva.

Now you're throwing complicatins into the mix.

Ponders.

Do I judeg by "best" car or "worst" car?

3 - I kid you not, 3 of my ds's closest friends parents DO NOT HAVE A CAR. Now that is bad planning on the lift sharing front! Grin

Kladdkaka · 09/04/2012 21:43

Depends on which group you want you child to mix with. If it's the future rocket scientists or the next Bill Gates go for the ones that look like scrap yard rejects. All the best nerds drive cars that defy the laws of physics. They take great pride in it. My uber-nerd husband even has a layer of grass growing on the roof of his.

VivaLeBeaver · 09/04/2012 21:47

And what constitutes a niace car?

New ford mondeo? Is that ok?

Or are we talking mercs and BMW?

Does a new mondeo trump a 10 year old merc?

I need specifics.

HoneyBunnyDragon · 09/04/2012 21:54

my current car

My dc's are destined to be friendless Sad

MessyTerrier · 09/04/2012 22:08

What Kladdaka said. Shiny, metallic new cars scream "nouveau". Think "battered volvo". Extra points for rust, dog hair and travel stickers.

Kladdkaka · 09/04/2012 22:15

Dunno MessyTerrier, thinking 'battered volvo' gives me the jitters. I live in Sweden. Wall to wall volvos. The battered ones are usually driven by inbreds who live deep in the forest and are a bit too handy with a chainsaw.

Goes off the check all the doors are locked

ChaosTrulyReigns71 · 09/04/2012 22:40

I think your DC will have copious friends with that Honeyd.

Grin

Oh yes LeQ. Grin I think most of the Sloanes all drive Polos what Papa has prurchased as well. Wink

HoneyBunnyDragon · 09/04/2012 22:45

Yes, I am vair popular to do drop offs after school discos, I have waaaaay more cred than even Ferrari Dad

VivaLeBeaver · 10/04/2012 07:22

Dd was gutted when I sold the vw camper, she said it made her the cool kid at school in the other kids' eyes.

LeQ

Among with many on here I will whole heartedly agree that MrQ is very sweet and rather handsome, but you are pushing it with cool!

Cool people do not lose a entire BMW and only realise months later. They just don't.

E320 · 10/04/2012 19:28

Frightfully sorry to disturb this thread, but the only "cool" car to drive is a Merc that is bought and paid for Wink
She may be 10 this year, but she costs far less, in certain respects, than a brand new BMW to run and to insure, given her bhp.
And to respond to the OP, frankly it doesn't matter one single bit what sort of car anyone drives, just as long as they drive properly and safely and get the people in it from A to B without mishap.
