am sick to death of some man Utd fans, just because they are at the top of the prem they think they are Champions and say 'You spent all that money and cannot win' - excuse me but they have always had money, we are just catching up with ourselves and now have injuries to our main players in our crucial games.

Manc City have been top for months, we will still be fighting until the very end so we will see on 13th May who will be top.

am not jealous am just mad!!!! Rant over Grin

It´s only a game...

FlangelinaBallerina · 03/04/2012 08:08

In my experience, people who think there are more City fans than United in Manchester have usually never been. There are certainly United fans from down south and indeed all over the world (though some of you might find it instructive to listen to the accent of the crowd at OT occasionally). That's not the same thing as there not being many in Manchester.

OP, if you want to rant about how unlucky City have been with injuries this season, I don't think United are the best target. It's been like an infirmary most of the time!

Threeprinces · 03/04/2012 08:26

Haha, this is the story of my life. My DH is a staunch City supporter and has been all his life, was season ticket holder at Maine road. We now live down south though and DS1 has somehow decided to support United much to the disgust of his dad.
So we have 3 City supporters (DH, DS2 and me) and 1 United supporter in the house. What joy!!

SoupDragon · 03/04/2012 08:31

I do love the accusation of arrogance in the thread title of,owed by, er, a fabulous display of arrogance.

Arrogance with a spot of bitterness and whinging thrown in.

And no, I'm not a United supporter - I hate them on principle because XH is a staunch fan.

mrsscoob · 03/04/2012 08:49

Man United earnt their money they were started by a pie salesman and a load of railway workers and then made their money through shirt sales, ticket prices, good business sense and a good football team that encouraged a world wide audience. Man City were given an endless supply of money and tried to buy the premier league. Man United have always been at the top and Man City are just another team who will have a go and then drop back down the division again.... Blackburn, Newcastle, Chelsea etc It isn't sustainable to just throw money at a team you need history, structure, a youth team and a good manager. Mancini I thought was appalling the other day the way he just sat on the bench sulking when Man City scored their second goal, and the players arguing too... you wouldn't see that at United.

Ladies please!! I off to arrange flowers, what's in your water?

MNHelenisPansfavourite · 03/04/2012 09:10

Passed the Etihad just now - the circus has moved on. Apparently it's headed off down the East Lancs Road......not kidding!

No, the Bitter Blue is more than just a stereo-type.

and as mrss indicates it takes a whole raft of things to be as successful as Utd - a really good manager and players who want to play for the club (rather than being lured purely for the oil-dollar) are two reasons as to why Utd will never finish below Citeh for the foreseeable future.

thebody · 03/04/2012 09:43

Jose mohrinio and David Beckham sandwich with me the filling. Football at its best.

FlangelinaBallerina · 03/04/2012 19:37

I'm surprised TheSecondComing's other half has met 50:50 United and City fans to be honest. There are more City fans than there were, but I'd still have thought they were the minority.

RichTeaAreCrap · 03/04/2012 20:28

Yawn, another bitter blue. Here have some 'City Crumble' to cheer yourself up.

5 points up, 5 points down Mancini is a fucking clown, with a nick nack paddy whack give a dog a bone Number 20's coming home! Wink

longdrawnoutsigh · 03/04/2012 20:45

What the actual fuck?

vix1980 · 03/04/2012 20:55

i can see your viewpoint OP, your obviously talking specificly about eamon holmes the man united bore and professional tit, he is extra arrogant, so yanbu to think that about him, there are some good fans out there who realise its just a bit of fun, and some who take it to far and would kill if ordered to, think the 1st type are in the minority though unfortunately!

LetUsPrey · 03/04/2012 20:56

DH is a Celtic and Man Utd fan (Glasweigan, moved to NW England mid-teens). He is happy. Not arrogant though.

He rates Balotelli (?sp) as a player, I mean really rates him. I've seen Mario play at the Etihad. City won, but more than once things didn't go Mario's way and he was like a sulky kid. I'm aware many many players act like this but his name came up and ... I forget the point I was trying to make but I'm sure it was a good one. Blush

ceebeegeebies · 03/04/2012 21:11

This thread has just reminded me of a Man United fan whose child is in the year above DS1 at school - my god, she is one scary woman Shock At the Christmas play this year, she was actually sat there being really aggressive about the headteacher (who is a City fan) who was on stage at the end asking one of the children if he supported Chelsea (it was the day after Chelsea had beaten City).

I was SO glad I hadn't worn my Chelsea shirt that day - I actually think she might have thumped me so much was her vitriol against City and Chelsea!!

dottygirl1 · 03/04/2012 21:27

Mum2luke....we are going to Manchester this weekend. Leaving the sunny south and heading north. To be honest I am just going for the 2 nights in a hotel and the chance to shop but the DH, DS and DD are purely going for the match. (Headwreckers)

mayorquimby · 03/04/2012 22:15

We'll do what we want

FlangelinaBallerina · 04/04/2012 07:46

I quite like Balotelli too! But he is too much of a loose cannon. And if you buy someone who already has a reputation, you have nobody but yourself to blame when they act up.

Schlumberger · 04/04/2012 08:22

OP, can I ask you a quick question? You are obviously passionate about your team and you can probably answer this for me. Forgive my ignorance!

DD's friend's father came to collect her from us on Saturday after he got back from the Leeds game. We all live about 200 miles from Leeds but he is an ardent fan and goes to all the home games. So he spends a lot of money on tickets and travel. He is 50, not a kid, but was very 'down' because they lost. I was absolutely gagging to ask him (but thought he may bite my head off) whether he would prefer it to have been a 0-0 draw and a boring game, rather than see his team lose.

Would he rather not have seen an exciting, decent game of football?
