I shower, dry hair, cream feet, dress, clean teeth, put on mascara and eyeliner and am ready in 20 minutes.
It takes 5 -10 minutes extra if I'm going out at night.
I pluck eyebrows every 3 weeks and run a razor underarms and over legs every few days - takes a couple of minutes.

AIBU?

Are you really asking if it is unreasonable to wonder about this?

It doesn't seem like the sort of thing that could be particular reasonable or unreasonable.

AIBU to expect everyone to be out of the house in under 30 mins? - that could be unreasonable

AIBU to need at least 2 hours between waking up and leaving the house? - that could be an AIBU

AIBU to wonder...? - not much unreasonableness present/possible there.

Fuckwittery, I am indeed sans sprogs! But fret not, sometimes I'm in the office from 8am to 8pm (with an hour commute each side). But yes, I would still allow 1.5hrs to get up and out!

About 20 mins including having breakfast. No make-up, just a shower, deodorant, talc, and brush through hair. Teeth get 2 cleans - before and after breakfast.
Takes around half an hour to get bubba all sorted though, not including fed...

AutumnSummers · 30/03/2012 11:15

Everyone has a different beauty regime. If 20 minutes works for you then it works for you.

I need an hour. 10 minutes to shower, 10 minutes to apply bio oil, 30 to blow dry my (very thick) hair and 10 minutes to put my make up on.

ifancyashandy · 30/03/2012 11:19

Fuckwittery, I'll pass you my powder compact next time I see you!

NoMoreInsomnia12 · 30/03/2012 11:25

Getting ready to go out of an evening usually takes one hour. Going out to school - anything between 5 minutes and 20 minutes. The upper end if I have washed my hair. Doesn't include breakfast though.

watchoutforthatsnail · 30/03/2012 11:32

1hr 15 mins if im on my own ( weekdays this happens about 3 times a year)
1h 45 mins usually, but this includes dealing with DD as well.

20 mins for shower/hairwash
15 mins for moistrising, hair plucking, spot squeezing
20 mins to get breakfast, eat it, stop dd prancing about like a loon.
30 mins to dry hair, put on make up, get dressed, help dd, find missing shows.
20 mins to faff about sorting out the pets, school things, put washing out etc...

Force self out of bed sternly insisting that world is not crap enough to hide under blanket all day: 10 min
Rush into shower while toddler still asleep. Wash all the body/hair. Shave half a leg before toddler comes into bathroom and starts throwing toilet roll/turtles into shower.: 10 min
Run around house naked, traumatising neighbours, trying to find matching underwear/socks: 10 min
Pin down toddler and force into clothes to screams of "no I wanna wear jamas all day": 15 min
Prepare weetabix with 'help', jam toddler into high chair: 5 min.
Clean up weetabix from all over kitchen: 5 min.
Eat own breakfast and check older child eating adequate breakfast: 10 min.
Respond negatively to shouts of 'want beebies, want play with my puzzle jigsaws, not go nursery': 2 min
Find childrens toothbrushes from wherever they have been discarded in house last evening: 3 min (optimistic, once one was in a shape sorter)
Brush teeth of self and toddler: 5 min.
Shout at older child to brush teeth properly and stop faffing in the bathroom: 5 min.
Find matching shoes for all that are not covered in filth/cat wee: 5 min.
Grab pack lunches from fridge: 30s.
Panic about anything potentially forgotten, while rushing round house to check, and attempt to shut cat out of bedrooms yet keep in house rather than leaving to roam neighbourhood all day unfed: 5 min
Put shoes back on toddler who has now taken them off and thrown them: 30s
Leave house. Run up road. See bus pulling away from bus stop. Swear. Ask older child why not dressed properly for weather, grumble incoherently at older child until she commences mocking me in revenge, remember cat not fed, check bag to ensure laptop power cable not left at home after recent incidents. Eventually get on bus and deposit children in appropriate environments before retreating to library to 'work on thesis' aka posting shite on mumsnet.

I make that 1h 31 min. Is that unreasonable? Almost certainly.

thestringcheesemassacre · 30/03/2012 11:36

20 mins for me with shower, makeup etc. 25 if I wash hair.
10 mins for dressing/supervising the DDs.
15 mins breakfast.
