I shower, dry hair, cream feet, dress, clean teeth, put on mascara and eyeliner and am ready in 20 minutes.
It takes 5 -10 minutes extra if I'm going out at night.
I pluck eyebrows every 3 weeks and run a razor underarms and over legs every few days - takes a couple of minutes.

45 mins:

cuddle with baby DD and put her in with OH
Shower
body lotion
make up
dry hair
iron clothes
breakfast
chuck stuff in bag
run about looking for the one thing I can't find...

TheSkiingGardener · 28/03/2012 22:19

I get an hour while DH has DS in the mornings. That means 35 minutes MNing or sleeping and a leisurely 25 minutes to get up. However, if a good MIL thread has started I can be ready in 15 minutes.

flyingspaghettimonster · 28/03/2012 22:20

I can get the kids up at 8.15 and all of us dressed and teeth and hair done to be at school for 8.35... Without laying clothes out the night before and including playing hunt the hairbrush/bags/coats/shoes. If husband gets up at 8am to do the same thing, the kids are lucky to make it in for 9 and miss breakfast. It is very annoying.

on a bad day I do drive them to school wearing my pjs and then go straight back to bed till the toddler wakes up...

scurryfunge · 28/03/2012 22:20

If I am on earlies I am up at 5.45, shower, etc and out by 6.15. I have breakfast at work which saves time.

TalcAndTurnips · 28/03/2012 22:21

ObvObv and TSG - good to see that some of you have got your priorities right Grin

ObviouslyOblivious · 28/03/2012 22:22

So Catsmamma and I take the longest so far. Any advance on 2 or 2.5 hours?

skybluepearl · 28/03/2012 22:23

I'm very impressed with all the blow drying that goes on

Bohica · 28/03/2012 22:24

25 minutes but I do prepare as much as I can the night before so all 3 school uniforms including undies, shoes, bags all lined up in the dinning room and I have my work clothes all set out upstairs.

We get up & DD1 makes breakfast for her & her sisters (she is 10) whilst I have a wash (bath & wash hair the night before) and start doing my hair & make up.

Everyone cleans their teeth whilst I do their hair and then we all get dressed and I finish my make up whilst drinking a cup of tea.

throw a few strops because DD1 has DD2's hairclip and someone has forgotten to but their book in their bag and a few random shouts of I HAVE TOLD YOU 3 TIMES NOW, GO GET DRESSED and we are good to go Smile

ObviouslyOblivious · 28/03/2012 22:24

Talc, I'll often seek out a nice long thread, download all the pages before we go in the tunnel and then read it all the way to work.

Ooooh, do we need a 'how do you MN on the tube' thread? :o

troisgarcons · 28/03/2012 22:24

Depends what you want me to do in the morning.

If you mean "how long does it take you to get out the door" .....about 5 mins if its a shower (no hair wash), chuck a face on, get dressed.

If you mean "how long does it take you with constant yelling, making lunch boxes, a bit more yelling, checking everyone has got everything they need and out the door" then thats anything from 20 to 40 mins.

If you mean what your morning is really like - get up about 4, do my emails, overseas sites, chuck on the washing, do the kitchen and bathroom, scan forums, do lunch boxes, feed the cat, have a shower, chuck a face on - oh yeah and yell at the kids for 40 mins, then thats from 4am to what should be 7.20 but more like 7.45.

sheepgomeep · 28/03/2012 22:26

15 mins, pull trackies on over pj.s, put shoes on, drag kids out of bed, get them dressed in record time, change dd3's bum, get them in car drop of a breakfast club.

on a better morning its more like half an hour. I then have time to take my pj's off BEFORE putting on trackies Grin

I really am not arsed what I look like in the mornings, Ive got the time to sortmyself out when the kids are at school.

marriedinwhite · 28/03/2012 22:27

I used to be able to do it in 15-20 mins. Now I'm 50+ it takes 30 mins - just can't move that fast anymore.

In reality I get up at about 6.15-6-30. Put kettle on, feed cats, unload dishwasher, make tea, take tea up to dh, start waking up the dc, have shower and get dressed, drink tea, put washing on, hang up yesterday's load, put brekkie out for dc, drive dd to school bus stop, come home do hair, tidy up, drive ds to school, nip back inside put on slap, chose nice shoes for work and bung in bag, switch off, lock up, at work by about 9.15ish. phew!

The days when I got up, made tea and toast, got showered, dried hair and slavvered on slap in 30 minutes are long gone. It's a two and a half hour job, start to finish, taking into account what everyone else needs as well

lechatnoir · 28/03/2012 22:29

20 mins for shower, dress, teeth, makeup & pack bag. I have to wash my hair either night before or on a non-work day as it's ridiculously thick do takes forever to dry & defrizz.

TheDetective · 28/03/2012 22:30

1 hour on a work day

2 hours plus on a day off Grin

On a work day, I shower - 10 mins, make up 15 mins, iron clothes and get dressed 10 mins, dry and straighten hair and put in to an 'up do' 20 mins. 5 minutes for opening curtains, straightening bed, etc. I can do it in 50 mins at a push.

On a day off it is all the same except the make up - I wear much more on my days off, as I like it. It is the eyeliner that takes forever!! Also much more likely to shave legs, or faff over what I am wearing. Plus I usually have DS to sort out - nagging, drying hair and ironing clothes! I also make sure the house is very tidy before leaving. I despise leaving a messy house on a day off to come home to!

Some times I take less, sometimes more. For example today my hair managed to stay non greasy last night, so I just spent 20 mins getting ready. That is a rare day though, and I don't like to do it often. I like to look what in my opinion is 'good'.

Dp despairs with me Grin

No one else has mentioned 15 minutes of chasing a mostly naked and giggling toddler around the house while trying to pull clothes over their heads? I must be doing it wrong. Confused

It all depends on what time we actually wake up (alarm goes off at 7.15 - sometimes we all carry on sleeping until nearly 8) and whether or not DP or I have a 9 am meeting.

CrystalMaize · 28/03/2012 22:43

Point?????

ImJustSayingLike · 28/03/2012 22:45

ah who can say without seeing you, you might be a mess and need WAY more time!, post a pic then we can tell you if you are BU or not to say you are perfectly put together in that time!

shewhowines · 28/03/2012 22:51

i'm afraid my hat isn't hard enough to try that one ImJSL what could be worse than hundreds of MNers pulling you apart?

TheyCallMeMimi · 28/03/2012 23:03

One hour almost to the minute for a work day:
Loo, shower inc hair; loo again. Must be the warm water and wriggling about in the shower that gets me moving (sorry, TMI?).
Dry hair. No straighteners needed, tee hee.
Breakfast. I cannot ever miss breakfast. I read the Sunday papers with breakfast (it takes a week to get through all the sections).
Brush teeth.
Get dressed.
Make up (tinted moisturiser, blusher, lips, squirt of perfume).
PS no dcs at home any more, routine was different then.

I dare say I could get out in less time by reading faster (and/or taking laxatives) but I spend too long at work as it is and I value this 'calm before the storm' time

Weekends are similar but no makeup and I often let my hair dry itself (slut).

Jenstar21 · 28/03/2012 23:06

Alarm goes at 5am. I get up about 5.15am after hitting snooze a couple times. Shower, breakfast, dry and straighten hair, dress, put lunch together, makeup, wake up DP. Leave at 6.15am to be at work for 8.30am. DP does him and DD after I leave, as he only has a 15 minute commute to DD's nursery and his school for an 8.30am/8.45am start. I quite enjoy my quiet time in the morning before the rest of the house is awake. Oh, and my sleep en route to work if I'm taking public transport....

Ruckoff · 28/03/2012 23:27

On maternity leave with 3 and 21month olds... my routine consists of change from pyjamas, put hair in pony tail (brush it if im going somewhere Blush hair is then half in and out of pony tail for the rest of the day, moisturise face and brush teeth.so about 2 minutes at the moment i reckon. i then change DD's which takes varying amounts of time depending on how compliant DD1 is Grin!

StopSwearingNagoo · 28/03/2012 23:31

Alarm goes off at 7.30.
DS is 5 and he has an alarm too, same time, he gets himself dressed, and DH makes sure he's up.
Clothes on, wake the baby up, everyone gets breakfast.
I do the laundry and dishwasher then too.
Clothes on Baby Goo, Shoes and teeth and out the door.
I usually squeeze in a little MN while we eat talc Grin

I have a shower after the school run, while Baby Goo has a nap.
I'm not too minging, I do shower every day.

10 minutes, clean teeth, clothes on, 5 minute to find where DDs have put the hair brush, shoes on and out.

Can't conceive of wasting sleeping time on make up and showers to take DD to school. Don't even get out the car some mornings.

My lovely DH organises breakfast.
