Just checking the boundaries, really. Seems some swearing at strangers is acceptable and some is not. Please advise.

Hun nun on the run

5inthebed · 24/03/2012 20:26

YABU, unless of course she said "do you have the fucking time you fucking inbred twat", then you can answer her however you see fit.

If her carer had scarpered at the first opportunity, I think that gives you your answer. If she'd pissed him off that much, then she doesn't deserve politeness from you!

MyDogShitsShoes · 24/03/2012 20:46

She wants to sell her wheelchair and buy a talking watch. It's all about priorities.

Or maybe use the exchange as an opportunity to educate her about budgeting, a bit of batch cooking and she'd be able to afford as many watches as she needs. You don't see clever people asking others for the time do you?

On the other hand she may be using it as a ruse in order to get close enough to speak to/touch/pinch/kiss/give herpes to your child. Or worse, ask for a donation to the nunnery.

Life would be so much nicer if everyone just kept to themselves and stopped trying to bloody communicate with strangers. Chatty bastards.

NeshBugger · 24/03/2012 21:01

well, these nuns in wheelchairs are crafty - she might well be able to run

YANBU subliminal religious indoctrination was obviously her aim Hmm You have had a lucky escape. You should have really pushed her to the top of a steep him and just let her goooooooo........!!!

fuzzysnout · 24/03/2012 21:51

Surely being able to tell the time without a watch is a life skill. If she hadn't wasted her money on fags and flat screen TVs she would know that. You should have told her to buy a chicken and a bag of spuds to last a fortnight and then she could have make her own timepiece from the bones. Naice people don't waste things you know.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 24/03/2012 21:51

yy, priorities.

And hers, the heinous old religious not-quite-crippled enough cow, are utterly WRONG.

The guverment shud give them vouchers so they spend there money rite and dont starve there kids.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 24/03/2012 21:55

I made my children's watches from the SMELL of our annual chicken.

You are a wasteful slattern, fuzzy, and don't know you're born.

Well, of course, "knowitall" the correct response is:

Blind Nun In Wheelchair: "Have you got the time?"

OP :"Only if you've got the money, darlin' ! "

Wink, wink, smutty clicking noise with your tongue.
Because she won't see you wink.

misspedantic · 24/03/2012 22:28

It depends... was she asking you for your bank details so you could donate money to charity. If yes than YANBU

betterwhenthesunshines · 24/03/2012 22:29

and it's threads like this which mean I never get to bed on time or do any of the stuff I'm supposed to do, ever

You all make me laugh :o

fuzzysnout · 24/03/2012 23:36

annual chicken Jenai ? you won't catch me being so wasteful. Surely chicken and bagged potatoes are only for those kind of people. Personally I only eat roadkill and my own organic veg. I cooked a batch four and a half years ago and we're still eeking it out. We freecycled our watches to a needy family from the north who the DCs are keen to continue to help by buying them an Oxfam goat.

Anniegetyourgun · 24/03/2012 23:41

Don't give anything to those bastards from the north, they're, like, northern innit. A decent southern family could dine for a decade on a fairly plump goat.

lesley33 · 25/03/2012 03:02

Agree Annie. Also if we do give anything to these northerners, they will just spend it on whippets and chips. So don't bother.

knowitallstrikesagain · 25/03/2012 09:41

Some very insightful comments. Yes, she was on benefits, taking up buggy space on the bus, letting her dog bite people and swearing at her carer. Her wheelchair had one of those bright pink 'Princess On Board' stickers and she was wearing designer shades, despite being on benefits.

She actually said 'Ey up, d'y'ave the time duck? So was definately northern.

And her sandwich contained foie gras.

It could have been worse - she could have been drinking fruit shoots.

MNHelenisPansfavourite · 25/03/2012 10:42

She asked you for the time....of what? Or to do what? Or you could have asked her what she meant by 'time' - it's a very philisophical question as well as involving quantum theory.

or you could have done it a la The Goons where Eccles pulls out a peice of paper on which he had written down what time it was when someone told him.

you simply aren't trying hard enough OP.

poor nun.

BupcakesandCunting · 25/03/2012 10:44

Asking other people for the time is such entitled behaviour that it boils my piss, lets it cool back down, then reboils it, repeats the process until my piss is a piss reduction.
