to worry about getting the tube across London late at night with my twelve year old?

am taking her to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall and our return trip will be a 30 min tube journey back to a mainline station late at night. (and I believe it's quite a long walk back to the tube station from the RAH).
AIBU to be a bit nervous about us being on our own, late at night, on the tube etc? Am half tempted to send her with her Dad, or am I being a wuss?

I've lived in London since I was 7, so I am city through and through, but I am always FAR more scared being somewhere quiet than in the centre of town.

Just out of interest, what do you think could happen?!

If you cross the road, you can get a bus - numbers 9 or 52 definitely, and there are more - to Hyde Park Corner tube. It won't take 30 mins from there to Kings X. More like 15 I expect. Or go in the opposite direction to South Ken tube (I don't know the buses that go that way. Same ones, I expect!). There will be LOADS of people going in the same direction. The Albert Hall is massive!

I have travelled late on the tube hundreds of times and it is always busy. It wont be that late if you are coming hom from a concert anyway.

Don't worry, you will be fine.

Be careful in that London village, I don't live there myself but I have heard about these viscous street gangs that roam around, picking pockets etc.

Here is some shocking footage of them in action.

you are being a wuss on many levels but that's OK Grin. there will be loads of people around and on tube - it will be perfectly safe

If you have plenty of time you can get no 10 bus from across the road from Royal Albert Hall to Kings X station. Will take longer than the tube though.
