It has just been on BBC News at One. Hmm

It's the lack of punctuation wot does it

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2012 13:53

Dr Who is cobblers IMO. I'm not sure any actors could make me watch TBH.

Only the sort of riff-raff who think the Doctor's name is "Dr Who" would think Matt Smith is the best.

If we are going for unknowns as The Doctors Assistant, I'd like to nominate Stratters

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2012 13:59

Genius Honeydragon, she has the right credentials plus I have heard of her!

Why would a famous person be any better? All that matters is that they can act.

Having said that, the last time they hired a famous person (Catherine Tate) I was outraged, but she turned out to be the best Dr Who assistant so far IMO.

The best assistant they never had was her from Blink. The one who's now a famous Hollywood actress.

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2012 14:03

Pigletjohn for Dr Who and Stratters as assistant. I would watch that.

Oh but no, it's not news Smile

Kikithecat · 21/03/2012 14:06

Leave Matt alone, he's luvverly and equally as good a Doctor as David.

GrimmaTheNome · 21/03/2012 14:07

Pigletjohn for Dr Who and Stratters as assistant. I would watch that.

Or vice-versa

NiniLegsInTheAir · 21/03/2012 14:08

YANBU. But then I'm the kind of person who thinks there should have been a female Dr Who and a male 'assistant' years ago :)

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2012 14:08

Yes-either way round would work. Pigletjohn would be able to mend the Tardis though.

I'd feel weird about the Doctor changing gender. Look how freaked Hecate was when TiggyD decided to be a bloke Grin

But Stratters could equally be the Doctor if she wished

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2012 14:12

We need to ask her.

Honeydragon · 21/03/2012 14:13

Ok I'm on it

Stratters · 21/03/2012 15:02

Coo Yes!!

Honeydragon · 21/03/2012 15:25

right we'll tell the BBC then

Stratters · 21/03/2012 15:36

When do I start? Grin

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2012 16:09

ASAP Stratters we need to get it on the BBC News at 6. Wink

I do have one small demand though.

I demand that Christopher Ecclestone comes back as The Doctor.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 21/03/2012 16:20

Ken Stott would make a wonderful Doctor.

No assistant in the world could be as dire as Catherine 'Far Too Loud and Shouty with a Face Like a Smacked Arse' Tate.

duckdodgers · 21/03/2012 16:48

Tom Baker was the best Doctor - but Matt Smith comes a close second.

The new assisatnt is teh actress who used to play Jasmine in Emmerdale. No I didnt know and had to look her up to, simply so I can tell my DS all when I get home.

Calamityboo · 21/03/2012 18:48

Oh how sad am I! Not unhappy, but a) I knew who she was b) I am sad I missed the news, am completely Dr who obsessed! c) am still completely in love with David ten inch tennant!

I need a life/job/hobby :(

FilterCoffee · 21/03/2012 18:50

The arts are at least as newsworthy as sport, which seems to take up such a lot of news airtime!
