To think that the singular of Weetabix is not 'Weetabic'

My DtwinSs are in a creche and they love their Weetabix at break time.

Creche worker always give me an account of what they've eaten and tell me they had 'one weetabic each'. I always think to myself 'don't you mean one weetabix' but never say it.

Do I need to get a life?

Oh, yes how could I have forgotten used to ask for a chee: She was used to being offered some chees(e), so she thought one small piece must be a chee!

When my DD was about 2, she used to 'help' (ahem) me with the laundry and whenever we came across an item of clothing that belonged to me, to her or to DH she would say
"That's Daddy's clo"
"That's Mammy's clo"
"That's my clo"

She thought the singular of clothes was clo. I thought it was lovely and when you think about it, very grammatical too Grin

I reckon it's one Weetabix, two Weetabices :o

This is great.

When ds1 was little, he insisted that a single fox was called a 'fock' and that 'fox' meant two at least.

It was a bit of an embarrassing one at times. Smile

I still call a fox a fock.

JaneB1rkin · 20/03/2012 17:25

I like 'clo' Smile We had that in our family too.

And my sister used to call a dress a 'frockon', as in, please put your frock on.

My best recent one was ds2, who is four, deciding that his brother needed to 'pollege' to him for doing something wrong.

Ds1 has to do a lot of polleging to ds2.
