Um. Not sure if it was Something Special or another programme this afternoon, with a whole little film taken in a NI Primary school with all the children dressed up, making shamrocks and some Irish folk music and dancing.
Pretty good actually.

Might have been Something Special, they do film in NI.

The world would not celebrate St Georges day the way paddys day is...no one likes the british like they do the Irish... St Patricks day is celebrated all over the world.... leaning tower of pisa along woth 30 other buildings around the world have been turned green to celebrate the day.

The Irish are loved across the globe.

Suck it up I say!!

No one in Britain celebrates St Patrick's Day because of the Irish; they celebrate it because it's yet another American import.

Give it a few more years everyone in the UK will be celebrating Thanksgiving as well..........

Angeleena · 17/03/2012 21:52

they celebrate it because it's yet another American import.

I agree, like trick or bluddy treat. We were halloweening in Scotland centuries ago and it was disapproved of in England but not now, the American influence has won over.

St Patricks day, the celebration of the patron saint of Ireland is an america import? You don't see the problem with that statement? And you don't think the massive Irish population in England might just have a little something to do with it? Hmm
