to think that DD can wear DS's old pyjamas if she wants to? (warning - trivial!)

OK, so apparently I am going to give my 5 year old DD an identity crisis by letting her wear DS's old jammies. By old I mean too small for him, now fit her, but happen to have Star Wars, Ben 10, Supermario etc on them and she LOVES them and has been desperate to get her paws on them.

My friend is concerned. So concerned that she has (very kindly) given her two pairs of fushia pink Disney-esque jammies for her birthday because 'it's a shame she's wearing all that boy stuff'. Grin DD loves them too and sees no difference and neither do I. Do I let her carry on in wearing his old gear or will she have grown a moustache by the time she's 6 unless I put a stop to all this folly?

Ha. Re boys wearing 'girl's' stuff- I once took my niece and nephew shopping for new tops as a treat. My niece, who was then about 9, wanted a pink top. Her little brother (6) loved it too and wanted one in his size. And insisted, even when we gently suggested he might want one in grey or blue. He really liked it: so that's what he got.

His father was furious and apparently thought it was all a scheme hatched by me to 'turn his son gay'. I shit you not.

YANBU. My dd2 was a Thomas fanatic when she was a toddler. She lived in Thomas clothes for about 18m, they were her own not hand-me-downs (although she had plenty of them too). Boys wellies, vests, pjs, t-shirts, socks and underpants. Why they didn't make Thomas clothes for girls I don't know. She is older now and has turned into a girl, loves skirts, dresses, make up, hair straighteners (they don't actually work properly, given by a friend, don't get red hot). She would have laughed at me back then if I had tried to put her in frilly pink things.
