They're building a McDonalds in our town. Within walking distance!! I'm so excited!! I love big macs. Oh god I can't wait!!

Our nearest McDonald's is a good 7 miles away which is probably a very good thing! We drive to it now and again for a treat, it's very handy when you have a toddler as it's so quick.

elinorbellowed · 14/03/2012 19:20

I never eat Macdonalds, and I have deliberately moved to a town that doesn't have one. Wish my figure reflected this smug stance.

Icelollycraving · 14/03/2012 19:28

My dh has a mcd thing on his satnav so they all pop up like petrol garage alerts. He denied adding this but looked decidedly shifty when I noticed it (along with a stash of paper napkins in the door) :o

Goawaybob · 14/03/2012 19:36

I got flammed to within an inch of my life once on here for giving DP a BJ in exchange for him going out at stupid o clock to get me a big mac

BalloonSlayer · 14/03/2012 19:42

Oh Goawaybob I know who you used to be now!

I remember that thread Grin

I love McDonalds. I was just saying to a friend tonight that I have missed the opportunity this week to think up an excuse "to take the DCs to McDonalds" when actually it is for my benefit and I couldn't care less whether they wanted to go or not.

toddlerama · 14/03/2012 19:43

Only the breakfasts are worth having. But I would walk over broken glass for a sausage and egg mcmuffin and sometimes try and engineer early journeys for weekend trips to justify stopping for one Blush

Goawaybob · 14/03/2012 19:45

But "balloonslayer" were you a flamer?? Grin

WorraLiberty · 14/03/2012 19:46

Just hope that you're never downwind of it, the stench is overpowering and vile. Something about mechanically recovered "meat" being washed in ammonia

Oh no, the smell is absolutely gorgeous!

I think it's the oil they use or something...but it makes my mouth water when I'm walking downwind.

NinthWave · 14/03/2012 19:47

al0uise that's an urban myth!

We did have a McDonalds a few years ago but it shut down, it's a Strada now...slightly less affordable Hmm

At least we have a few decent kebab shops to make up for it!

EmptyBotheredPocket · 14/03/2012 19:47

Mmmm double sausage and egg mcmuffin. Yummy.

Calamityboo · 14/03/2012 19:50

I NEED to move, we have neither a mcdonalds or KFC, or Burger King, not even a Little bloody chef, NOWT!!!!

LadySybilDeChocolate · 14/03/2012 19:51

I don't actually know what's here. There's a mixture of crap fast food places, loan sharks cash til pay day/brighthouse places and dump your unwanted Christmas present shops charity shops. They are all of equal measure, along with empty shops that is. Hmm

Ilovedaintynuts · 14/03/2012 19:56

I bloody love quarterpounders with cheese and chips. I could eat three. They are my guilty pleasure. They are my cheer up food. Oh I love you McDonalds.
My family are all food snobs and recently we were all helping a family member move house. Everyone was starving and I nipped to McD's and spent £70 on a feast. Everyone made a face when I returned but not one bloody chip was left!

DialsMavis · 14/03/2012 20:03

In my younger more idealistic days I boycotted the arches for decade. DS (9) has only had it twice: once at a birthday party and once when he had been really ill and not eaten for so many days we just wanted him to eat something . But, then whilst pregnant with DD a higher power sent me in there for some sort sort of chicken and bacon thing an a sprite, I was vegetarian until that point. I haven't been in again for about a year, but I had an egg Mcmuffin the other day....OH.MY.GOODNESS it was divine!!!! I am going to get really pissed soon, partly so I can have another one the next day.

bobbledunk · 14/03/2012 20:21

I have to admit, I love McDonalds, don't eat it that often which just makes it even nicer when I doGrin

ABigGirlDoneItAndRanAway · 14/03/2012 20:32

Have they started doing creme egg mcflurries yet?

catgirl1976 · 14/03/2012 20:33

Seriously - those Big Tastys are like crack

Am glad I dont live toonear one - would be enourmous

rhondajean · 14/03/2012 20:35

I can cope with the Maccy d deli sandwich but KFC? BOAK!

catgirl1976 · 14/03/2012 20:39

Have sent DH out on a mission for a McDs Blush

Honest - most of the time its home cooked from scratch goodness - but the thread broke me Blush

GrittersWifeAndProud · 15/03/2012 07:43

We don't have any chain food places in our town (till maccies is finished), so this is a big thing for us!! Apparently it's going to create 65 jobs, I reckon that's a lot for one McDonalds!

OP posts:
AnEcumenicalMatter · 15/03/2012 08:49

There is a McDs and a KFC less than half a mike from my house. I've been in the McDs twice and the KFC once in 9 years. That type of junk food just doesn't do it for me...thankfully! Or I'd be even bigger than I am now.

We don't have Greggs or Krispy Kreme here though...if they ever open up then I will be in there so much they'll be within their rights to charge me rent!

rhondajean · 15/03/2012 09:13

Damn you all.

I am currently travelling half way across Scotland by train and after this thread last night I HAD to stop in bk at the station when changing trains for a breakfast.

Bloater.
