actually, i;ve had ther weekend to calm down a bit, so am not too furious now.

dd1 (12yrs old) was purposely attacked on friday at school with aerosol cans by 14/15yr old boys to try and bring on an asthma attack.

the school havent contacted me about the incident.

I have called them thhis morning to try and get to the bottom of what happened and how they are dealing with the incident.

thankfully dd1 amanaged to control her asthma with extra doses of her inhaler, but she was feeling quite rough friday night due to the extra doses taken.

i am fuming.

Just to say I am glad that the school came back to you and even more glad they have called in the police. Be proud of how you have handed the situation, as you have remained calm throughout. I hope your DD is ok and the boys were made to apologise to her today. if they haven't already been excluded.

What an awful thing to happen!

Poor DD. Well done for staying calm- ish!

And congrats on your pregnancy! MadWoman

The school needing time to investigate is one thing.

But they still didn't contact you to say that this had happened at all.

They should (IMO) have called you as soon as your daughter reported it to tell you that she had needed extra medication, was otherwise fine and that the matter was being investigated.

Surely they could have anticipated how upset and angry you would be when the first you heard of the incident was from your daughter after school had finished for the day. And how frustrated you may then be waiting all weekend before you could speak to anyone at the school. And how unprofessional it is for them to wait for you to contact them on Monday morning rather than call you themselves on Friday.

They may be doing the right thing now, but they dropped the ball by not immediately contacting you themselves on Friday lunchtime. Don't let them off the hook for that one because it's not good enough.

Good on the school for taking it seriously, sorry you got so stressed about it and sorry your daughter had such a terrible experience.

update

police have been involved via school
boys in isolation and extended detention

boys parents also backing up the school and police. so all being sorted.

That's good news, glad to see it's being taken seriously by everyone.
