To think that this crib is dangerous and shouldn't be on eBay?

This rocking crib is clearly a lovely, high quality item but it is so, so dangerous! Cots and cribs are not allowed to be made with posts like that due to cases of babies and toddlers catching their clothes of them and being hung to death. In the USA it is illegal to re-sell cots that don't meet current safety standards and I really think it should be the same case in the UK. AIBU?

Samuel, was there any type of weird floor markings on any of the floors ?

yousankmybattleship · 10/03/2012 21:13

I don't like it, but its not dangerous. It is only intended for very little babies how exactly do you think they are going to get their clothes caught?

fazsaeed · 10/03/2012 21:14

I agree...
Most new born babies lay flat and most babies can only wiggle until after a few months. I personally think it looks eerie so wouldn't go for it myself...

I had to take it apart because it had a crack on one of the legs so was a tad wonky! It's bloody heavy too and I can't imagine many people wanting it where ai live. I have thought about eBay tho!

Do you not think that rather than complaining here, you'd have been more effective contacting the seller? From their other items, I'm guessing they're either making them or buying them from the manufacturer. So if you explained your concerns they might alter the design.

But I agree with the others in that it's not designed for a baby who pulls to stand, it might well tip over if a child was standing up in it and bouncing.

Dear lord that thing looks like a coffin Shock

Maybe suitable for Morticia Addams?

Hellboy · 13/03/2012 09:54

not my taste but yabu. Cribs are for small babies who cant roll / stand / run / climb etc so that looks perfectly hideous safe

I expect the seller would think this thread was a dream. It was free advertising for her crib and she got £75 for it.

MrsBovary · 13/03/2012 11:21

Gosh Samuel, really!

I think the crib linked to in the op looks rather like it's been fashioned out of a cheap pine table. I don't know whether it would be dangerous, it could only be used for the tiniest of babies. Little chance then of clothes catching? Though it doesn't look very practical, I wouldn't buy it, certainly.

MrsBovary · 13/03/2012 11:23

I'd love Samuel's for the children's dolls or some such Blush

halcyondays · 13/03/2012 12:51

Somebody paid £75 for that hideous thing? Shock It's creepy looking and wouldn't be safe to have in the house if you had a toddler about.
