like FB does, or better still, a positive/negative button like "The Student Room" does, so I can "comment" on a post with minimum effort?

Would save me loads of time :)

tis done here

:o

Maryz, regarding abuse of a like/dislike button - TheStudentRoom, which I use regularly, gets round this problem by having a limit - you can only like/dislike a comment once, and you can only like/dislike a posters comments twice (ie you can "rate" 2 comments by the same person, but then you are blocked from rating that person again for a time). I think that system gets round the potential for "rating abuse".

I do get stuck in and post, but sometimes it would be good to have an instant 1 click comment Grin !

I've got a spellchecker on firefox too!

mojitomania · 09/03/2012 14:17

Enough symbols on here already.

Sparklingbrook · 09/03/2012 14:17

My Google Chrome spellchecker is an American. Confused

Procrastinate - but the firefox spell check doesn't work the way the Chrome on does! Chrome's spell checks everything you type, as you type it, no matter what site you are on - so easy!

Sparkling, my Chrome spellcheck was also American to start with, but my son sorted it and now is British!

Maryz, we are lucky to have computer literate DS Grin.

ProcrastinateWildly · 09/03/2012 14:30

Firefox does too. At least it does on mumsnet. It's just underlined firefox and mumsnet as I typed. There it goes again Grin. It does it the same as Word.

oldmum42 · 09/03/2012 14:40

MMMMmmm, Procrastinate, wonder if it's changed then? When I had Firefox I have to click on some buttons to get it to do the spelling, but I'm not very techy so maybe it wasn't set up right or something!

OP posts:
ProcrastinateWildly · 09/03/2012 14:45

I'm not either. I had it switched on, but no dictionary selected so it wasn't working, I was inspired by this thread to google and it's sorted now.

randommoment · 09/03/2012 14:50

I like the idea of virtual bun throwing and some sort of limited on the lines of the StudentRoom as described. So often I've seen a post that I really admire and agree with, and all I can do is post way down thread 'What xyz said' and hope other readers have the energy to scroll back and find it. I really don't want links to bloody FB though, so glad that FB like button is gone, although there's still a FB recommend thingy about.

oldmum42 · 09/03/2012 15:20

Random....... I agree, NO link to Facebook, wish I'd not mentioned it in my first post :) ! Was saying a button LIKE the fb one, not linked TO fb, though I know there previously was an actual FB link thingy previously, which is not a good idea at all IMO!

WorraLiberty · 09/03/2012 15:24

Just to be clear oldmum

Do you want it linked to Facebook or not?

oldmum42 · 09/03/2012 15:29

I love MrGin's buns thrown counter, was going to suggest a star rating but that's much better..
