Not "oh right"

Was your last comment to me? If so it was quite uncalled-for and a very strange personal attack. Happy to be wrong.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 01/03/2012 14:17

I have two colleagues who are on lighter life when I am doing low carb.

Those shakes look monstrous. They have been told about ketosis and think that the lighter life is the route to that, I have mentioned very briefly that low carb does the same thing but you can actually eat food, but they are not convinced and think that atkins diet is a surefire way to have a heart attack.

Mostly though we keep out mouths shut as we are vastly outweighed by men on the team and we don't want to Invite Comments.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 01/03/2012 14:22

Why talk about it at all? If you'd keep it to yourself, nobody would notice and wouldn't invite comment. There's nothing more boring than listening to somebody droning on about diets all the time. Do it or don't do it, nobody cares...

StealthPolarBear · 01/03/2012 14:28

It's sometimes nice to talk about what you're doing as part of general conversation. I sometimes tell people after they feel obliged to continually offer me cakes

BearlyThere · 01/03/2012 14:41

Lying witch read the thread, I already explained why

I don't tell anyone about my low carbing - If I am pressed to eat cakes/biscuits I just claim to have a wheat/gluten intolerance - it gets a much better reaction! Grin

Trills · 01/03/2012 14:58

I hope you won't mind if I roll my eyes at your fake intolerance.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 01/03/2012 15:02

lol at intolerance.

Or lie and say you have diabtetes

Trills · 01/03/2012 15:08

Claim to have a made-up-illness.

What's Latin for "don't want to eat it"?

GetOrfMoiiLand · 01/03/2012 15:10

I am joking about the diabetes, I know it's a hideous condition to be diagnosed with, not just a get out of jail free excuse for dieters (in case anyone is offended).

You're on a diet

WOWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

ilovetopost01 · 01/03/2012 15:32

i don't believe you!

BearlyThere · 01/03/2012 15:34

That's it. I want more. "what? YOU? You size 24 barrel of health?".
Yes. Like that.

Getorf dieting is a very personal journey. Your way is best for you, their way is best for them. LL shakes are not monstrous, it is very hard to go without any food though. Some can, some cannot and disguise it with - wouldn't want to go without food.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/03/2012 15:40

I think when you tell someone how old you are the correct response should always be 'NO! You cant be'
NOT
'oh'

EVER.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 01/03/2012 15:44

Oh I know it's a personal journey, but I can't think how cottage pie flavoured soup from lighter life can be described as anything other than monstrous. Grin I smelled the thing.

BearlyThere · 01/03/2012 15:51

Yy neve do food replacements. Eithe do without. Or have a small bit. No snack bars no fake sugar. Man
Up and take control

ilovetopost01 · 01/03/2012 15:55

Same as loads of the same non carb food every single day! Monster arteries for your trouble! ewww

GetOrfMoiiLand · 01/03/2012 16:01

i love.

Bless you. Defending lighter life when it acts by sending the body into ketosis. Which is exactly what low carb (which you are erroneously slagging off) does as well.

Why not take a word of your own advice "dieting is a very personal journey. Your way is best for you, their way is best for them"

ilovetopost01 · 01/03/2012 16:18

At last we agree!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 01/03/2012 16:19
Hmm
OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 01/03/2012 16:19

Is the right time to interject with 'diets dont work'

HTH

GetOrfMoiiLand · 01/03/2012 16:19

Or that old chestnut 'eat less, move more'

ilovetopost01 · 01/03/2012 16:20

I do not believe you devere

ShirleyO · 01/03/2012 16:21

God, all those shake diet things are just ridicularse. Same amount of calories in a shake as there is in a sandwich - just what is the bloody point?
