THAT IS THE MOST APPALLING THING I HAVE EVER EVER HEARD. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FOUR RS?

NO WONDER THIS GLORIOUS NATION IS GOING TO THE DOGS.

mumblechum1 · 29/02/2012 17:19

Grin naughty Hully

valiumredhead · 29/02/2012 17:21

Why not? Confused

blushingcrow · 29/02/2012 17:21

It's broken Britain.

Nanny0gg · 29/02/2012 17:21

So, maths, science, speaking and listening and probably literacy (if they had to write about it), isn't a good way to spend time?

oldmum42 · 29/02/2012 17:21

measuring ingredients, timing the cooking, packaging and pricing the goods, working together with classmates in a co-ordinated way to achieve a goal........................ nope, nothing of educational value to small children there!

They will probably be taking about how much fun it was for days.

oldmum42 · 29/02/2012 17:22

*Talking about it

TisPityShesAWhore · 29/02/2012 17:23

but what does the lunchbox healthy eating policy say? were they allowed to even eat any of the produce or just put it in the bin?

gothicangel · 29/02/2012 17:24

what oldmum42 said.

why are you so botherd by it?

SilentBoob · 29/02/2012 17:24
KalSkirata · 29/02/2012 17:25

baking? hardly raises any money. Down the mines I say!

BupcakesandCunting · 29/02/2012 17:25

They're baking, not learning the best way to mainline heroin. What is the actual problem here?

valiumredhead · 29/02/2012 17:26

That's next week bups Wink

Hullygully · 29/02/2012 17:27

It's a short step, Buppy. Have you seen them kiddies go at the icing sugar?

nickelhasababy · 29/02/2012 17:27

we used to bake/cook in junior school.

in the classroom we had a cooker and everything.

yep, maths, science, safety in the home, etc

Slartybartfast · 29/02/2012 17:27

up the chimneys, they would be small enough if they didnt eat all the cakes

OTheHugeManatee · 29/02/2012 17:28

I remember doing all kinds of weird stuff at school, including at one point building a brick pizza oven. I've yet to have to lay a brick wall as an adult, but I wouldn't be too intimidated by the idea if I had to so don't feel like that was a wasted day.

Baking is a load more useful than some of the crap children have to sit through in the name of education and doesn't sound to me like a silly way to spend the day at all.

Sirzy · 29/02/2012 17:28

I think baking in schools is great and teaches the children loads.

OhChristFENTON · 29/02/2012 17:28

On the plus side, I have just polished off some very tasty biscuits.

I may have sprayed a few crumbs out then, sorry.

brandysoakedbitch · 29/02/2012 17:31

It is not as if they are being taught to make a crack pipe with a Tennants Super can.

News: raising money for charity and thinking of others less fortunate is bad for children - what the fuck would they learn from that anyway??????

PurplePidjin · 29/02/2012 17:31

Saves the parents burning it at 1am, surely?

TheVermiciousKnid · 29/02/2012 17:31

Never mind all this educational stuff - the real benefit of teaching children baking is that they can bake cakes for you! My daughter bakes lovely cakes now. :) I can't remember the last time I had to make a cake. Grin And she prefers baking to going up the chimney.

ripsishere · 29/02/2012 17:31

Grin YANBU. I think it is absolutely dreadful.
Don't the school realise it's lent. All the stuff needed to make baked goods should have gone into pancakes

AFuckingKnackeredWoman · 29/02/2012 17:32

The teacher should be sacked and put on a list!

I want a fairy cake now

BupcakesandCunting · 29/02/2012 17:32

In secondary school, we spent an ENTIRE AFTERNOON learning how to cook a jacket potato. A whole afternoon.

The next week we took a whole afternoon making a crumble.
