I am very organised when it comes to holidays. We are already booked for main family holiday 2013 but want a short break with the kids in sept/oct 2013.

Anyway was trawling through villa sites and found a lovely villa, emailed the owner to say that i thought the villa was beautiful and that i just wanted to make contact so i had an email record of the property i could get back to her with dates then.

Today she emailed me this.

Well get back to me with dates and then we can talk but don't talk to me about holidays 18 months down the line cus I ain't interested. Ok

So i replied shove your villa up your arse are you always so rude or are you just having a bad day?

Grr i wilk deffo not be renting that villa now

Ah yes, vivi We're of the same mind here!

Voidka · 24/02/2012 10:28

Very, very rude.

I am glad I am not the only one that is so organised - we have our 2013 holidays booked already.

MissBerta · 24/02/2012 10:34

Oh I'd be organised too - gotta pay for this year first!

I think shes onto us ladies Grin. Have just recieved this by email.

'Please accept my apologies I've just read my email to you and it is quite awful. I'm told I can be far to direct at times and this was certainly the case. I didn't mean to cause offense but can see why it did.

My apologies'

Good form. Not many people recognise and accept they've mad a mistake, let alone act on it.

duckdodgers · 24/02/2012 15:42

We could all contact her and ask about holidays in 2014 Grin

I used to have a holiday let advertised on the web. About 90% of the emails I got were from time wasters and weirdos. I imagine she had just cleared a whole batch of these, and thought your mail was one of them. It was a bit of an odd approach to be fair. Most people would just bookmark the page.

I received a bizarre enquiry once, from the US. A guy wanting to rent somewhere to propose to his girlfriend. It was pages long, practically told me his life story, so I filed it in 'nutters' and ignored it. Turned out to be genuine, but he had to email me endlessly and then phone several times before I'd believe him. Luckily I wasn't rude, just unhelpful.

I do everything on the ipad, have nooo idea how to favourite or bookmsrk stuff.
I like everything filed in my mail (that goes under travel) because i am freaky anal ocd sufferer very organised

But really, you could have chosen to send a note with a carrier pigeon and you should still have expected a respectful reply.

notso · 24/02/2012 16:42

In my experience of villas the good ones get booked up ages in advance anyway so I wouldn't have thought it was that unusual to ask 18 months in advance.

MOSagain · 25/02/2012 13:51

I rent my holiday villa out and often have enquiries 18 months or so in advance as for peak times like Easter and Christmas it books really quickly. I can't believe how rude she was, not the way to get business.

Where was the villa you were looking at going to anyway? (or did I miss that?) If its Florida, give me a shout next year Wink
