Who wear those silly bow type hair bands look downright ridiculous??

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2012 17:40

Don't the baby ones leave an elasticated mark on the poor baby's bald head? Confused They look really uncomfortable for the baby. Sad

JambalayaCodfishPie · 22/02/2012 17:40

I'm a decade too old then. Ah well. I work with teenagers, does that count? Grin

Blx2thelotofem · 22/02/2012 17:41

A girl i used to know in the US has a thriving business selling...

Self-adhesive bows for bald baby girls.

messymammy · 22/02/2012 17:42

Yabu.
I love them.

molly3478 · 22/02/2012 17:42

I wear the same as feminine and wear flower bobbles in my bun everyday

Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2012 17:42

Noooooo Blx not self adhesive. Sad

TheCunningStunt · 22/02/2012 18:09

sparkling thanks for the linkGrin self adhesive? That is just cruel

Blx2thelotofem · 22/02/2012 18:10

Yep. Self-adhesive.

GhastlyBespoke · 22/02/2012 18:14

They look utterly ridiculous on grown women.

I bought one of those flowers on elastic for DD. there was not one way she could wear it that it didn't look like a small Miners lamp.

Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2012 19:27

Miners lamp. Grin I haven't seen a baby wearing one for a while now though-will have to wait for summer. Smile

GhastlyBespoke · 22/02/2012 19:32

I do feel I have to add she is 3 and has an abundance of hair.
Can't abide seeing little baldy babies wearing a headband. It's all wrong. Grin

GavisconJunkie · 22/02/2012 19:33

Don't care about grown women doing it, fine, fashionable, some look silly therefore great for a giggle. Babies OTOH...shudder

GoingForGoalWeight · 22/02/2012 19:37

Horrible on babies and most women

Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2012 19:38

These come with glue Shock

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 22/02/2012 19:40

Grin @ originaljamie do you know him

GoingForGoalWeight · 22/02/2012 19:41

Words fail...... Shock :(

2ombie5layer · 22/02/2012 19:42

Those baby headbands look ridiculous IMVHO. I think some people put them on so other people know it is a girl. I cant see where the offence is if some random stranger cant tell if my baby is male or female.

Cant say Ive seen fully grown women wear headbands only the young fashionable types.

At what age do have to stop shopping in New Look and the like anyway? Im 33 and wouldnt shop in topshop (its far too fashionable for me), but have no problems with thinking of New Look. Is there an age?

Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2012 19:47

I am the wrong side of 40 but I do go into New Look. Hope that's ok. I don't feel ready for Bon Marche just yet, Grin

BobblyGussets · 22/02/2012 19:47

I quite like the look of the womens' headband things on that link. I have never worn one, but I might get one tomorrow.

I don't think they are as bad a scrunchies. I have never worn one of those fuckers ,bleurgghh. But. even they aren't as bad as head bands for poor little babies.

2ombie5layer · 22/02/2012 19:49

no neither do I Sparkling just wondering if you can get too old for a fashion shop.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 22/02/2012 20:01

sparkling I am older than you and still do new look and would do other shops 'too fashionable' if I wasn't fat I think its a state of mind and as long as you are not trying to look like the 'yoof' then it is ok to be fashionable at whatever age. My 2 DS would soon tell me if I was looking ridiculous even if DH thought I looked sexy.

Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2012 20:05

Yes, Step I don't wear leggings with teeny denim shorts. Grin That would be a step too far. I went into Dotty P yesterday and got a scarf but did feel a bit old in there.

BobblyGussets · 22/02/2012 20:09

Sparklingbrook, what, not ready for those practical, elasticated waist polyester slacks yet? Grin

Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2012 20:11

Oooh Bobbly they sound very comfy. Grin

breatheslowly · 22/02/2012 20:41

Aren't the baby ones just to stop that embarrassing "what's his name moment" which happens even if you dress your DD head to toe in pink? Not that DD ever had one as I always enjoy watching other people squirm. At 17 months she still gets called a boy though.
