I mean......I just couldn't believe what I was hearing at 1pm in the afternoon...she was speaking to a parent and actually said to her " your'e bloody kidding me!" and " your'e bloody joking" !!!!

okay, if this was after 9pm at night it wouldn't matter too much....but it's 1pm in the afternoon and im watching this programme with my 6 year old !! who promptly turns to me and says "mummy that lady is swearing!!" Oh dear !! well im sorry Jo FROST , we know you are only human but you've just gone right down in my estimations......you spend all your time getting naughty children to contain themselves but you can't even do it yourself!! needless to say my complaint to ofcom has been registered.....AMIBU ???

hate her programme, hate her whole naughty step / time out thing, ugh...

MateyMooo · 12/02/2012 19:19

WHY were you watching it with your 6 year old?

surely that isnt asseptable viewing for a 6 year old?

kjmama · 13/02/2012 21:21

if its not swearing , would you be happy to let your child say it , when i was growing up it was swearing , it might not be that strong a swearword but still "unasseptable "really supernanny tut tut !!

Cherriesarelovely · 13/02/2012 21:28

I love Jo Frost too. I once wrote her a little fan email and she sent me such a wonderful, warm response. I try very hard not to swear at all in front of my DD but I have to admit that "bloody" is something of a catchphrase in our house and DD tells me off. about it.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 13/02/2012 21:29

Oh I sometimes watch it with my 5 yr old MateyMooo. We watch a child having a tantrum and then running off and I then do an exagerated sharp intake of breath and he then earnestly tells me he'll never do anything like that. Grin

keepingupwiththejoneses · 13/02/2012 21:32

Yes OK it is not the best word but not really a swear word. I haven't read the whole thread and maybe someone else has already said it but, the 9pm watershed only applies to channels 1-5. Other digital channels can do what they like.

canyou · 13/02/2012 21:33

I saw that program today I am surprised she was so restraint, The mother was unreal I know that it is cut to not be very flattering to the parents style of parenting but WOW bloody would not have been the word I used usually I use worse Blush DC have a swear box they made a fortune from me before I learned new swear words, sugar and flippin fairiesGrin

ElphabaisWicked · 13/02/2012 21:37

Of course bloody is a swear word. Its shortening of the oath By our Lady. My 8 and 10 year old know it and I arn't too bothered about them hearing it now as we have discussed certain swear words however that was my informed decision (I decided to let them watch Les Mis) and I would be a bit Angry at hearing it on a programme in th middle of the day which is aimed at parents with young children who may be watching with them at that time.

Any word which would not be acceptible fo rhte children to use at school is swearing.

Mind you ds's Year 3 teacher let them listen to a CD with a the same two words in a couple of weeks ago (she warned them in advance that there was a naughly word in it). I've just bought the same CD and havn't found it though!

LynetteScavo · 13/02/2012 21:40

Of course bloody is a swear word!

Would those who think it isn't be happy for your child's teacher to use it in class?

YouOldSlag · 14/02/2012 08:57

If it was Supernanny US, they probably think it is a very British thing and not a swear word as such. My US cousins thinks its funny rather than offensive. I doubt she would use it on the British version.

Denj33 · 14/02/2012 08:59

YABU
Really..? Are you that bored?

Love Jo frost tho :)

TimeWasting · 14/02/2012 09:04

Doesn't Ron say bloody often in Harry Potter?

Threeprinces · 14/02/2012 09:05

YANBU,I wouldn't want my kids saying it and I don't say it in the house unless of course I'm talking about something covered in blood.

There is no need for it.

I was brought up to believe 'bloody' was a bad word and if one of dc said it I would tell them it was a bad word and they shouldn't be saying it unless it is in regards to an injury/cut, etc.

YAB a bit ott with your reaction though.

It maybe depends on where you live/come from though, relatives of mine from another part of the country would use it regularly in place of harsher swear words.

Bloody isn't swearing. I'd say it is 'asseptable' in the words of Ms Frost.

If she had said 'cunting crikey' you may have a point.

Stop clutching your pearls and stop watching such drivel.
