Is play dough one of the most awful things ever invented?

My dd 4 has it all over the floor in tiny little bits, on her clothes and we constantly have to buy her more as I find it stuffed in places and then gone hard. It also turns alovely colour once its mixed all together which happens often within minutes of new pots being opened.

It is one of her favourite things to play with.

It's a great toy, and one which should therefore only be enjoyed on special occasions at someone else's house.

Re mixing the colours thing..... Just get only one colour out at a time!

Simples!

GobHoblin I know exactly where you are coming from. I received a call from DS's nursery asking me to come and collect him as he had play doh stuck in his earhole.

I went to collect him and sure enough there was a wad of the stuff just visible stuck right down his ear so I took him straight to the walk in centre where I bumped into the father of one of my DS's friends - his DD also had play doh stuck down her earhole!!! What a coincindence!

It turned out that our lovely darlings thought it would be a great idea to shove the stuff into each others ears resulting in a 4 hour wait at the walk in centre only to be told that the stuff was stuffed so far down their respective orifices we would have to go to hospital to see the ENT specialist

Each of us had to wait a week for appointments to have the vile shite removed from our DCs ears

Sorry that is not an amusing story. At all. Oh no.

Home made play doh is defiantly the way to go. Save the bought stuff for older DCs who can put the lids on the pots and appreciate all the colours.
The home made version doesn't dry out as fast, doesn't crumble and being just flour and water dissolves out of clothes and carpets.

Now glitter glue and even worse home made PVA plus paint or glitter, thank you music group, those are the devil incarnate.
