Want to put off going to hospital- should I just do it?

Sorry, I know this should probably be in pregnancy but it's quiet over there atm so I'm coming over here Blush. Sorry.

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow with DD1. About 4 hours ago I started losing fluid which I thought was my waters breaking, but no sign of any contractions yet. I've lost a whole lot more in the past half hour or so (sorry, probably too much information!), DD is still moving but not as much as she was before, though that could be my imagination. I have been measuring just over normal for the past few weeks as I've had polyhydramnios, though DD is measuring small for dates so although I'm nearly full term I do want to hang on a bit longer IYWSIM. My bump feels like it's shunk quite drastically but still no signs of anything happening/anything wrong.

I have been suffering from anxiety for the last few weeks so I know this could just be me overreacting completely, it's my first DC so I don't really know what to expect. So should I be panicking, or is this OK and I'm just being paranoid?

Additional information: I'm now starting to think maybe I should go and get checked out but I'm starting to worry now that I'm going to be induced. DD is measuring at 32 weeks at the moment and for various other reasons her chances really will be better the later she's born. I don't want to end up being induced when I don't think it's really necessary atm, but then I don't really know what I'm talking about Confused. Help!

Phone midwife then please go to hospital, there is no one here qualified to decide what is best for you and your baby so don't waste time and speak to the professionals who have access to your records. Please.

Good Luck! Smile

GingerSnapsBack · 06/02/2012 23:20

How would you feel if you waited and something happened to dd? I think you need to go. They won't induce unless its in your (and her) best interests

TopazMortmain · 06/02/2012 23:20

Call them call them call them! By them I mean the maternity unit. They will give the best advice. Good luck! Smile and congratulations

LadySybilDeChocolate · 06/02/2012 23:21

You need to call them. There's no way around this. They are the experts, you'll get all sorts of people on here and not everyone knows what they are talking about. You're clearly leaking fluid, it's not a good situation for you to be in.

Kayano · 06/02/2012 23:21

Off you go and good luck!!

lisaro · 06/02/2012 23:21

Please phone or go - it's always better to check. Good luck!

IneedAbetterNicknameIn2012 · 06/02/2012 23:21

Phone the midwife/hospital, and Good Luck :)

slowburner · 06/02/2012 23:22

Please please go in. I wish I had.

giraffesCantDonateBoneMarrow · 06/02/2012 23:22

Whether you go to the hospital or not is not going to affect that. But if you need medical help will get it in the hosp. Just go or phone. Now.

squeakytoy · 06/02/2012 23:24

You need to go to the hospital NOW

GingerSnapsBack · 06/02/2012 23:26

Btw the baby can survive in utero even if your waters go for a couple weeks although this would need inpatient monitoring. But if they want to deliver then it will be because it is best

Sannebanana · 06/02/2012 23:32

OK just phoned the hospital and they want me to go in so I'm just going to have to do it. :( Thanks everyone xx

featherbag · 06/02/2012 23:49

Oh good luck, and fingers crossed for no sign of DH or MIL!

Wittsend13 · 06/02/2012 23:52

Sanne, is your mum there? Hope you have someone to come with you. Good luck x

Sannebanana · 07/02/2012 18:05

Well I'm still pregnant!

I went in to hospital to get checked out and although I'd gone from too much fluid to slightly under normal, nothing's happened since. Apparently DD's movements have decreased because she hasn't got as much space! They kept me in all day today but everything seems fine and there's still no sign of labour, so they've sent me home and told me to come back when something new happens.

So that's the good news. The bad news is that DD and I are still spine to spine and she hasn't got much room to turn :( Help!

Featherbag no sign of MIL yet thank god. And H will definitely not be coming near me for a while.

Wittsend13 no, not yet, though she's trying to get a flight out here asap.

My 1st was spine to spine. Apart from them having to attach a heart rate monitor to his head, it was a natural birth. Gas and Air and a small cut. Try not to worry. He's now a 13 yr old. 6ft 1 stroppy teenager:)

GirlWithPointyShoes · 07/02/2012 19:32

Good luck! xx

GirlWithPointyShoes · 07/02/2012 19:33

Oh bum, Sorry. I'll read the whole thread.

You'll be ok. :)
