AIBU?

To sways be a little dubious when women claim they didn't know they were pregnant?

I'm talking women who give birth in their bathroom and claim they went through being pregnant for 9 months without having the foggiest.

I know some women don't get symptoms like sickness etc, I can believe women who maybe reach say 5 months or so. And I know some women don't get bumps, I've seen that myself, but come on...how can any woman not feel a 7lb baby moving around inside them? Or to think that when an elbow is poking out and wriggling around that it's just wind? Or when they shift from one side of your stomach to the other? Really just wind is it?

I remember when I was about 5 months pregnant with DS his dad complaining cos he couldn't sleep because of the vibrations coming off the bed from baby kicking. Bump wasn't even touching him and he could still feel it. Surely that kind of thing must happen to everyone whether u have a bump or not?

I know a load of you will give me your stories of ''it happened to my friend'' but i just really really struggle to really believe them.

I finder it harder to believe that some people are so lacking in brain cells and empathy they can't believe something if it never happened to them.

Wow strandedbear, that is awesome - all of those look either completely normal, of a bit of windy bloat at most, which if you had IBS would be totally expected.

I can't imagin how scared you must have been to have an unexpecte labour Shock

I don't think they are lying, it's just so hard to imagine. Like if someone claims to just pop their babies out quickly and completely painlessly. It's too far removed from my own experience I suppose.

I do actually know someone this happened to (the undetected pregnancy, not painless birth) but she was very overweight.

YABU - you seem to think that everyone experiences it the same way.

Stranded I've read your story before it still makes me do this Shock Those pics are incredible I'm not surprised you hadn't realised! Were you at uni at the time? Must have been so very surreal. What was her weight?

I think people should consider the hell that is IBS and have more sympathy. My sister has had way more problems with IBS than I ever had with pregnancy.

And I love these threads cos StrandedBear's story is so awesome, but I can't see the FB pics.

That's an amazing story stranded and your pics are unbelievable. I had the most HUGE bump with all of mine - it is hard to understand how it can happen when your own pregnancies are so obvious. But there you go, you have proved beyond doubt it happens!

Must have been so surreal. And also sounds like you had virtually no apparent labour too(until crowning)? Okay I'm slightly envious of that although I still wouldn't want to be in your shoes and have a surprise baby!

Stranded - did you not feel exhausted though? Even if she was back to back with a front placenta I would still imagine you'd feel exhausted. Also I'm wondering how much your DD weighed when she was born.

Oh stranded your story gives me happy chills! You DP sounds lovely and the fact that your DD was ok is lovely! I have to ask though, have you had any more dcs? And if so did you carry the same?
