To hate receiving e mails that don't start with 'hello, hi, dear' or any sort of greeting at all

It started with some alpha males with lack of (or lack of care for) social skills. Now everyone is doing it.

It's only 2 more keystrokes to type 'hi' before my name.

It just seems so rude, abrupt and shouty.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Agent Grin. I bet we're not alone... xxx must be habitual for many people when they message friends.

I can't stand this either, be it by e-mail or on the phone. It's usually because the rude person is in a rush and it makes me come over all childish unhelpful.

There's one bloke who calls dh regularly and i can't seem to help myself.

Bloke: Mr Button.
Me (superhelpful tone) No, this is Mrs Button.
Bloke: Er... No, I'm calling for Mr Button.
Me: Oh. ok. Dh? Dh? Where aaaaaaaare you? Hold on for a few minutes, I'll go and check in the shed.

It's happened a few times now and he still hasn't twigged that the words "Hello, I'm calling to speak to" would save him so much time.

Depends on your relationship with the person, how often you email them, how much they use email, level of internet usage, all sorts of things.

Really doesn't bother me in the slightest.
