I want to sue Headmasters Salon

So I walked into Headmasters today and asked if there was any possibility I could book colouring for tomorrow? The receptionist said yes and it will be £68 but you also need to book a blow dry which is £20...
I explained to her that I dont like blow dry, and I don't ever use hair drier, and I like to style my hair myself, is it possible I can just have the colouring procedure done?
She said it is their policy every colour procedure must be booked with a blow dry...
Now, I have a very messy curly crazy hair...Don't I have the right to keep it this way?
Is she ( I mean the salon) discriminating against me?

blimey what did you say to so offend on a blow drying thread?

Freshlettice · 25/02/2012 00:30

I really don't understand this blow dry policy. I have my hair cut and coloured regularly and my long suffering stylist doesn't bat an eyelid that I refuse to have it blow-dried. It' s even on my records. I wash and wear at home except to take a bt of moisture out, but blow drying always makes me look like a '70 s male model (think blonde pageboy) whereas leaving it alone gives me messy surfer type waves.

I called the OP an idiot

quite frankly thats hardly comment deleting worthy is it now!

My fab mobile hairdresser does me a full head of highlights, cut & blowdry for £50.

I'm sure years ago I went to a hair salon where they would let you sit and blast dry your hair yourself if you didn't want to pay for a blowdry - but no idea if that included people who'd had their hair coloured... Surely if they're 'proper' hairdressers they can cope with drying curly hair in an appropriate way? Confused - I'm sure a 'blowdry' doesn't exclusively mean a straight hair-almost-yanked-outta-your-scalp 'do' does it?

Are you American?

Kewcumber · 25/02/2012 11:19

"Don't I have the right to keep it this way?" - yes you do, by not going to a hairdresser who wants to dry your hair.

Kewcumber · 25/02/2012 11:19

Going is "american" a euphemism for "deranged"?

Sue happy, more than UK. I love Americans, mostly :)
