Upahill Grin

... when all else fails... remember the camembert!!

Thanks but no thanks Valar. I know MNHQ can read my PM's but I trust them not to unless someone has asked them to for a specific reason. If I thought MNHQ was reading them for 'a bit of fun' I'd be out of here like a shot. They are private mails.

The other day I got into a ruck with someone and the other poster said "I've been reliably informed that you're crazy by others on here" - which I thought was a bit off. Without PM, you wouldn't have that culture of being able to bitch behind people's backs. Not sure why you would do that, I mean, you're on the internet, it's not like the person is going to come round and punch you.

Someone said that to you yellow? Shock

There is a glut of posters whose egos really need reining in imo.

Maybe reporting snide little comments such as that is the best way forward.

JustHecate · 28/01/2012 13:29

Someone said that to you? how horrible of them!

Although - they probably just said that to be a cow. Odds are nobody said anything about you and they were just trying to upset you.

aufdeutschbitte · 28/01/2012 13:46

It really is Mean Girls, isn't it?

Extraordinary.

NearlyMrsCustardsHardHat · 28/01/2012 14:00

People will always fear the unknown and any degree of secrecy will breed some sort of paranoia in those who are that way inclined.

The filp side of that is you could view it that those who are paranoid about the passing of bitchy PM's are that way inclined because they partake in sending/recieving them and so are petrified that messages are being sent about them.

yellowraincoat · 28/01/2012 14:41

They really did say that to me, yes. I was a bit miserable about it actually.

I really hope they were just being a cowbag and trying to be hurtful. It would be a bit horrible if every time I posted people were rolling their eyes and wishing I would STFU.

yellowraincoat · 28/01/2012 14:44

I don't agree with you on that though, NearlyMrsCustardsHardHat. I think I've sent about 3 PMs since I joined, each time in reply to someone asking me for information on mental health issues (oh and once cos someone said a comment I made gave them lols).

If I don't agree with someone I'm happy to say it openly and if I don't like them, I just don't tend to say anything. Why would they care if I don't like them (not that there is anyone I dislike on here particularly)?

I'm not ravingly paranoid that people are chatting about me, but after that comment I'm a little bit less inclined to be open on here, especially about my mh problems.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 28/01/2012 14:47

Well, I have certainly sent PMs about that yellowraincoat myself ...

ABatInBunkFive · 28/01/2012 14:47

I've had a grand total of 1 because my NN helped someone remember something, it was nice to know i can be helpful. Grin

I don't mind the PM system but it can be missused in so many ways. Sad

aufdeutschbitte · 28/01/2012 14:48

Nice.

Oh, I sent one about you once too LRD.

One HUNDRED. They were all about how bad you smell.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 28/01/2012 14:53

I have one hundred PMs! I have one hundred PMs! Ooh yeah, ooh yeah!
