£26k is a vast improvement on my current income.

...or am I being too hopeful Grin

Sorry to hear about your impending unemployment DDD, it must be a scary time for you. And sorry again for coming over all po-faced up there, sadly there are too many people who could write your OP and be completely genuine about it, hence why some people here missed the sarcasm.

Have more kids - problem solved!

Being unemployed sucks, but it can lead to a better job (in my personal experience). Don't forgot to buy an X Box too.

I was about to rant Dilly but now I've read the threads its faded away.

YABU to have got me angry with one post though... even DH looked up from his work and asked what was up as I exclaimed "FFS ARGH".

Phew. Peace is restored.

YANBU to think that a lot of people really have no clue and cannot see beyond the headlines.. even my Mum who usually doesn't take much notice of the world beyond hers rang me to suggest I signed on as I'd get a decent income. WTF?

Heh. I still don't have my huge TV despite having been on IS for over 6 months now (yes I am applying for jobs so fuck off tories- but apparently no one wants to employ an MSc and near-PhD qualified scientist in the UK, perhaps I need to move to Germany where they have an economy and stuff). Should I go in to the jobcentre and complain yet or give it another couple of weeks? (I don't have my free goat either but that's a whole nother story...)
