I have posted in pregancy this morning, but had one response of "POAS".

So would like to know if people know of cases of women falling pregnant while using the implant?

I've had what can best be described as pg symptoms over the last month, and it's really worrying me. I bought a test at lunch time, but will not be able to use it until I get home at 8, and then they say it's best to wait for your morning wee anyway, so please put me out of my misery and let me know what the chances are?

if it makes any difference, I have fallen pregnant while on the pill and the injection in the past (not at the same time of course)

Thanks

Can they not put you on the pill until it gets sorted?

kelly2000 · 24/01/2012 15:11

If you are worried about the pill, and not confident with implanon, why not just use condoms.

ProfCoxWouldGetIt · 24/01/2012 16:36

I don't really trust the pill as that worked before, going to have to switch to condoms for now while this gets sorted.

You're disappointed, your DP was 'thrilled at the idea'?

And you're using contraception because...?

You clearly want a baby and I think you're having one Grin

Just go for it! Good luck either way, anyway!

ProfCoxWouldGetIt · 24/01/2012 21:30

@ abbierhodes we definitely want one, but I've only just started a new job, and as the sole wage earner, I need to have worked with my compnay for a year before I qualify for any maternity benefits (beyond statutory) also they've offered me a fantastic opportunity and I want to make sure I don't just bugger off for 6 months, before settling in properly.

But yeah we do want another one, and if it turns out I am expecting it won't be the end of the world

Am happy for Prof and thinks she might be pg! My brother's ex gf got pg on implant. Yikes.

StrandedBear, my friend had unexplained lactation (on contraceptives, def. not pregnant, not having been shagging), turned out it was a (benign!) tumour on the pituitary gland, which was shrunk with tablets. It's rare, but I thought I'd put it out there.

Just to update you all - have started the mother of all heavy bleeds and negetive test over the weekend.

So definitely not pg.
