I'm not sure at what age children stop going to holiday activity clubs, and if they don't go what do they do.

I'm struggling to find interesting clubs for my dd. I'll be out from 9.00 to 4.00 - what age do you think its okay to leave dc on their own, and do you set guidelines on what they should do or let them watch Glee all day in their pjs?

I was certainly left at that age.

I knew what I was/wasnt allowed to do.

My mum was a single parent who worked, so what do you do?

There isnt childcare for secondary aged children so im sure there are lots of parents who have to do this.

As long as she feels confident she'll be fine.

Our leisure centres etc do holiday childcare up to 14, and lots of privately run activity schemes for this age group too.i think 11 is too young to be left alone all day.

Could you rganise a couple of trips for her - maybe feet friends for lunch one day in McD's or a cinema trip, bowling, shopping.

Maybe work with other parents of your daughter's friends so there are one or two things each week they can do sp you can split the costs.

Depends on the child, if you feel you can trust her (and you know her), go ahead and leave her.

I wouldn't, no.

I do leave my 12 year old DC alone for a couple of hours but only when I know I can back very easily.
I cerainly wouldn't plan a week with them unsupervised.

Is there anything at the sports centre or tennis club? Guides?
