You know when someone says 'name changed but not a troll - missing toaster, poo troll etc'. It doesn't really prove anything, does it? Any lurkers could read all that and still be a troll of some sort, no?

Hmm, didn't read this thread until now and missed all the excitement and PMs.

I am generally oblivious to trolls, although I have had my suspicions on a number of occasions. I admit that I am more likely to be swayed by a name that I recognise and not report.

I am me, btw. I am shit and namechanging, which is why I rarely do it. Will shortly be swapping my swanky house near Lake Geneva for a council house in Scotland and then a flat (hopefully) in Munich, which all sounds a bit far fetched when I think about it.

I am a namechanger though- and I have been on this thread. I'm not a sockpuppet though, but I will say this: BOF is an incredibly witty and insightful woman and you should all strive to be more like her.

I'm new (6 months ish and joined; left; joined again) but have name changed about 8 times, mainly because I worry I've put my foot in it, which is silly really. I've also sometimes had people react to me as though they 'know' me and think I'm someone else, which is awkward. Weeps. Sorry to get serious on a jokey thread, but just saying.

I am a bit concerned about sockpuppetry. We have at least a hundred odd socks. It's always been a bit of a mystery, but now I'm convinced that at least some of them turn up on mumsnet as sockpuppets. Sorry. :(

I made a Father Christmas sock puppet with youngest son in the Christmas hollybobs 'cept it only came with pink buttons and him being a boy an'all, decided that Would Not Do so we used football stickers and stuck them on instead.

He looked WELL JAUNTY.
