Just been to tesco and they overcharged me 30p for a bag of arborio rice. I noised as I checked my receipt o the way out. I qued for 10 mins at the ustomer service desk to get my money back and to be fair they do give you double the refund if theyare wrong but I am sick of these constant small mistakes. I would love to know how much they make put of these pricing mistakes

YANBU, I always check my reciept and the majority of the time I have been overcharged for BOGOFs etc.

I always get my refund, regardless of the amount.

The best one was xmas 2010, Toys were half price plus 3 for 2, no discount went through so was charged £120 instead of £40, didn't get double the difference though, would have pushed for it but DH works there.

You should ALWAYS let them know. I work on the CSD at our local Tesco, and we take overcharging seriously. The department responsible (grocery, fresh etc) get a bollocking for every one, as do the price integrity team. The stores can't fix it if they don't know. Also remember, there are 1000s of different items on sale, and the staff are only human Smile Tesco will give you double the difference back on any overcharge, but it should be pointed out the same day as offers/prices do change. Btw YANBU op Grin

YANBU.

It's the principle, innit.

Yes, but I can't help but feel that the people sneering and saying "life's too short" and "my time is more important than that 30p" have never thought how patronising it can be saying that to a group of women who e.g. are having to feed a family of four on £20 a week.

Absolutely agree. Its only 10 minutes - hardly hours and who is that busy every single day they cant spend 10 minutes in a queue? No-one wants to - but 60p would get a loaf or milk, and Ive ben in that position the day before payday.

Tesco used to be miles better, they used to have an offer for overcharging years ago taht involved keeping the item and getting the ful price refunded, I got a free DVD once because they had overcharged me 50p.

I do it !!!
I dont care, its my money - how many times do they get away with it?
Last week I had a clubcard voucher for 80p off Senseo coffee pods (which, suprise, suprise have gone up from 2.99 to 3.59 -wtf ) and when the cashier scanned the voucher she said "oh, you cant use it just yet".
There was no start date just an expiry date (April) so I took the voucher and the till receipt to customer services and was given the 80p back in cash, no questions asked.
I will be doing it the future as well.
