Im not in the least bit tired right now and know if i went to bed i wouldnt sleep. DD1 is back at school tomorrow and i know i would sleep in since we havent been getting up early during the holidays. So i was thinking it might be worth pulling an all nighter and tidying up and stuff. I also have 1 year old twins but im pretty sure i could survive till bedtime tomorrow then just have an early night then.

yabu it's a silly idea and you'll fall asleep on the sofa at 4.00am and oversleep. Go to bed.

TheSpreadingChestnutTree · 08/01/2012 23:57

A housework all-nighter! Rock 'n' roll!

Sluttybuttons · 08/01/2012 23:58

I just thought that since the children are asleep and not creating chaos i would be able to get so much more done than waiting till tomorrow when i will get virtually nothing done.

Is there something going on tonight, I came downstairs again to do the washing up and tidy the coffee table so that it's not so cluttered in the morning. I was just making myself some hot chocolate too. Would you like some? Brew

RowenaRavenclaw · 09/01/2012 00:02

Are you actually feeling a little overwhelmed by the clutter, is that why you can't sleep?

Sluttybuttons · 09/01/2012 00:11

I have a babysitter coming round tomorrow for an interview and the house is a mess lol. I know i wont get the chance to do it tomorrow and it does really need done

can you really look after 1 year old twins on no sleep? Woman f steel, no way i could contemplate it!

TheSpreadingChestnutTree · 09/01/2012 00:14

Will it actually take all night though? With no interruptions it might be a lot quicker than you think Smile

Sluttybuttons · 09/01/2012 00:14

When they were teething i went about 3 days on no sleep. I was a zombie though. 1 night should be easy enough, shouldnt it?

The things we have to do to get some time to ourselves!

theincredibequeenofwands · 09/01/2012 00:18

Why not comprimise and declutter for two hours and then go to bed?

Or are you one of those people who have to finish a job once it's started?

I was awake all yesterday, worked a night shift last night, came home and cleaned the ENTIRE house, had a bath and fell asleep at 2pm.

Now I'm wide awake.

Grin

Or maybe you could even just write yourself a lis of everything you need to do. Then you would have made a start without actually having worn yourself out. If that makes sense..!

suburbophobe · 09/01/2012 00:19

It's Full Moon! :-)

TheDetective · 09/01/2012 00:19

I'm up for the night too if its any good? I am having new carpets on friday/saturday.

This involves waaaaaaaaaaay more work than you could imagine possible.

I've decided there is no point having new carpets down and not doing all the glossing. However my dog seems to have other ideas... As a result, i'm staying up tonight to 'get things done'. I have so much to do, and not enough time. Only I ran out of gloss. And its sunday night. Raaaaaaar. Going to pack the rest of the house up instead.

I'm telling you, moving house would be SO much more easier. It all amounts to the same thing anyway. I don't know how i'm going to manage all this!

And i'm working nights too.

Got tonight/tomorrow off to get everything done.

loveemboth · 09/01/2012 00:20

hiya, i thought i was the only one to ever do this!!. welcome to my world!!. i do this about 4 times a year, i get so much done when the kids are asleep and i feel much better once everything has been sorted and cleaned and tidied away. go for it!!

TheDetective · 09/01/2012 00:21

Incredible, I do the same (daft) things.

My sleep patterns are generally fucked due to constant days to nights! This last few weeks I've done week of days, week of nights, week of days, 2 weeks nights, week of days.

Fucking mental.

Sluttybuttons · 09/01/2012 00:22

detective you can be my insane all nighter partner lol
We could arrange to post every coffee break with progress updates lol

Is it too late to put the washing machine on?

Bugger decluttering, we need all hands on deck on the bloody "what's this logo" thread!!!! Grin

TheDetective · 09/01/2012 00:36

Be right there! After I move the dining room table, which is currently masquerading as a coffee table. It has severe body dysmorphia.

Sluttybuttons · 09/01/2012 01:09

Right kitchen first i think

GoingForGoalWeight · 09/01/2012 01:26

I need to do this too but I live in a terraced house and afraid of disturbing the neighbours. :(

Anyone else worried about that? Or am I being over cautious?

GwendolineMaryLacey · 09/01/2012 01:29

I've done it. It's very therapeutic actually. But you need to have a really easy day lined up if you're going to go for it. I'm not sure 1yo twins is 'easy' :)

marcopront · 09/01/2012 01:30

I hope it's going well. I'm in a different time zone so I've just got up. I spent yesterday decluttering and it feels so much nicer in my flat this morning. There are about 8 small bags of rubbish outside and a big pile of stuff to give away.

BigBabyBoots · 09/01/2012 01:33

I just swept the kitchen, dining room and hallway, did the washing up and gathered up rubbish - you're not alone! I've struggled to sleep since ds came along, even tho he's quite settled at night now, so I figure I might as well get something done :D

BigBabyBoots · 09/01/2012 01:36

GoingForGoal I worry about that too, but they keep me up with their drunken activities every now and then so...
