Or perhaps it's just that I have a large number of people on my friends list that seem to live very glamorous lives?

So many lovely photos of weekends away, weekends abroad, posh weddings attended, fancy dress parties, new year's eve parties.

Anyone else have FB friends with fantastic social lives that are documented on there all the time?

Actually trills face book asks for a dob but it doesn't have to be yours that you supply. you could lie

Trills · 08/01/2012 22:06

I know IceCold - I was answering lljkk who asked if her DS's friend would have to pretend to be 3 years older forever - he lied about his DOB so Facebook will tell everyone he is 16 if he says "tell everyone my whole birthday" but if he says "just tell everyone the day and month" then it doesn't matter if he lied about the year.

I prefer to see the more positive updates and pictures of holidays / weekends away / children etc. That's what I go on to look for! Nights out I find a bit boring as they're more or less always the same sort of thing. But anything is better than a negative or depressing status or one that complains constantly. Also the people who have to simply say what they're doing every hour of the day are quite annoying.

I hardly ever post as I've not got anything interesting to say most of the time! Suppose I could write something like "DS in bed, I'm on mumsnet, TV on but not watching it, heating on so lovely and warm". Who wants to read that rubbish though?!! I certainly don't :)

There isn't many people, who will write the true state of their lives on fb.. There worried what others will think. I don't know one person who has the perfect life. It's not possible. Everyone has problems or issues to deal with. You mostly only see the good it's of there but even then they over exaggerate it. It makes me laugh we they talk about having some wine. They wo nt just sAy it as it is. They will say something like. Having a lovely glass of vino with snuggles with my gorg man and a delicious curry yum yum. Or sometimes they might be champers instead of vino. When the reality is its problably lambrini, tho I do like this haha and from a dive of acurry place. Hubby prob on xbox orsimilAr and just had a row and there feelingsorryfor themselves as they aren't getting any attention and the curry tasted yukky not yummy.

Kellogg I'ld hate for family or close friends who weren't available on the minute the second I left my scan to find out I was pregnant through some aquaintance who saw my scan pic uploaded to facebook. Its special news and its nice to have it news between you and special people before its general FB chit chat IMO. It says to the people you tell before FB that they matter and are part of your journey.

What's Facebook?

Bonsoir · 14/01/2012 18:45

I'm very happy with my life, which is very full, and feel no need whatsoever to publicise it, on Facebook or anywhere else.
