.. about another 20 times in the next 48 mins so that I can answer, "oh, I am 38 years old"?

Countdown starts now. Another YEAR and 48 mins and I will be 40.

Oh my god. Maryz just swore at one of the teachers.

NanAstley · 01/01/2012 22:30

My mum doesn't let my dd's call her granny. She's literally made up a name so that she can live under the delusion that she's not a grandmother. I would laugh, but I have no doubt I will be doing the same when my turn comes

MrsKwaziipanFruits · 01/01/2012 22:31

Remind me again how young you are Mme? Xmas Grin

MoreBeta · 01/01/2012 22:31

Maryz - good thinking on the reproduction issue. DW says DS1 is not even allowed a girlfriend until he is 21. Grin

Olympics2012OliviaMumsnet · 01/01/2012 22:32

@Maryz

And Olivia, fuck off .
Pantofino · 01/01/2012 22:33

Relax MmeL - you are still in your 30s! Unlike some of us And I can guarantee that once you pass the big 4-0, nature's big defence is that you can't remember anymore how old you are and have to use fingers to calculate it if asked.

A very happy nearly birthday to you!

ReindeerBollocks · 01/01/2012 22:33

Well with all the moving - will you send me your dog

Good luck with the moves, and no way do you look a day over 28

ReindeerBollocks · 01/01/2012 22:34

I like it when Olivia gets all authoritive and strict

crazynanna · 01/01/2012 22:34

Pantofino I had an argument with my dad about how old I am on my birthday. He was right. I'm 26. Grin

GeriManda · 01/01/2012 22:37

tis v true that you forget your precise age in your 40s. I just know who of my friends are in their 40s but not the actual number.

Panto
had to do that for YEARS already. Don't think we get asked as much when we are over 19 or 20yo.

And it is more something to forget than remember.

Remember when we used to say, "I am almost 19yo" as soon as you were 3 months past 18th birthday.

Reindeer
Keep your mitts off ma dawg.

Well, I haven't graduated to Gransnet yet, and I'm 55. Am I actually the oldest one left on here?

Though I have in fact registered on Gransnet, but I only did that to get the free book for the first 250 members, or whatever it was.

By the way, how old did you say you were Mme?

ReindeerBollocks · 01/01/2012 22:44

I have a friend who is freaking out over her thirties, and one who is freaking out about being 65. Whereas my mum embraces her age because she thinks she gets away with more as she is older she is fast becoming a batty handbag lady.

I will leave the dog alone, however if you ever want to swap her for a toddler, that I can do.

MmeLindor. · 01/01/2012 22:47

Rusty
38, and you are MUCH too young for GN.

Reindeer
Swap for a toddler??? ARE you out of your mind? I am done with babies and toddlers, Done I tell you.

Ooh it's just dawned on me after reading this thread that I'll be 40 this year.

Not for 344 days mind you, but it's this year. Cripes.

MmeLindor. · 01/01/2012 22:49
