To hate new years eve?

Cant bloody stand it but I do stay up and have a few drinks,auld lang syne drives me nuts..always makes me cry as well and if I look back on this year I will cry buckets..lost 2 people close to me and a much loved pet along with other things..tonight is one night I find unbearable..

You must all be confused . It is Christmas that is shit, NYE just means i't's over .

We'll stay up have a wee drink at midnight, wish each other a happy new year, then dh's Mum and Dad will ring and yap to him for ages (they are scottish), meanwhile I sneak orf to bed.

Time to get on with real life, which I stupidly prefer.

Can I join you? I find NYE such an overrated anti-climax and am not going out not that I've had any invitations anyway. DS is in bed and I'm eating crisps and watching Big Bang Theory re-runs but am off to bed shortly. I'm such a party pooper that I've put my phone on silent so I'm not disturbed by people texting at midnight.
