My df and i were in Tesco today with my dcs and he said he'd buy them both a sweetie. This I have no problem with at all. I don't buy them sweets and we see him once a week when he always buys them one each. He took them to the sweet aisle and let them choose something. Ds wanted a wee packet of chocolate buttons. Fine. Dd wanted a flump. Again fine. Df then decides that they should both have a packet of popping candy each to which I said no as i don't think it is appropriate and is pretty disgusting imo. Df made a big hooha about it saying I was being stupid and mean not letting them have it and proceeded to buy it anyway and giving it to dcs while I was in the toilet. Aibu to think that a) I am their mother and if I say no that means no and b) I am not overreacting and being stupid to be selective in what my dcs eat. They are 3 and 4

I like popping candy it's fun. The crunchy lollies with it in the chocolate are yummy.
I do draw the line at gum and things that take forever to eat and get left covered in fluff (giant lollies, sweet dummies and the like)

TeamSledward · 28/12/2011 18:45

Mmm, I can't imagine being on the receiving end of candy cunnilingus would be that comfortable, to be honest...

WorraLiberty · 28/12/2011 18:45

Well you just sort of tip around a quarter of the packet in your mouth before going down...obviously he would do the same thing before going down on you Blush

TeamSledward · 28/12/2011 18:46

My foof is squirming at the thought!

JjandtheBean · 28/12/2011 18:47

Best laugh I've had in years feeding my 3yo dd and 4yo ds popping candy --almost as much fun as feeding it too the cat--

JjandtheBean · 28/12/2011 18:48

Must remember to read whole thread before posting.

Popping candy oral you say...

WorraLiberty · 28/12/2011 18:49

Yes but never with the cat! Shock

TeamSledward · 28/12/2011 18:50

Yes, there are laws against that sort of thing!

JjandtheBean · 28/12/2011 18:54
Xmas Grin

Surely its umm, pointy, or does it disolve quickly, I'm just struggling to undertand how it wouldn't be pointy.

TeamSledward · 28/12/2011 18:55

Yes, pointy! and scratchy!

TeamSledward · 28/12/2011 18:56

I think I'm going to have to google it...

WorraLiberty · 28/12/2011 18:58

Yes it's pointy but it's not the only little prick you're going to get Grin

KenDoddsDadsDog · 28/12/2011 19:02

Parents exist to go against your wishes with things like crisps and sweets. My mam says its retribution for my teenage years! (And I remember telling my gran off for putting Milky Bars in my coat pocket)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 28/12/2011 19:02

notveryinventive · 28/12/2011 19:15

I have had loads of those popping candy choc oranges (I eat them all in one go Blush), in fact I popped into town last Sat and in Smiths they had choc oranges 2 for £4. I actually spent time moving all the horrible honeycomb ones off just to get to the popping candy ones at the bottom, then I put the honeycomb ones back on. At our shop you can buy magical elves (I think they're supposed to be just for christmas, but Im sure I bought them at different times of the year too) which are chocolate with popping candy in.

In regards to your dad undermining you, I think that is a bit U, but I think you were being U in the first place to say no to an extra treat. Not that its and excuse.

Popping candy is ace and at 33 I dont care, Its one of my favourite sweets.

LoveInASnowyClimate · 28/12/2011 19:23

YABU.

Also interested in this blow job stuff. Xmas Confused

JjandtheBean · 28/12/2011 20:55

I'm gutted team, gutted.

I'm on my phone --and too chicken-- so can't google.

CheerfulYank · 28/12/2011 20:57

I googled and it seems to be not as well thought of as mint BJ's. :)

skybluepearl · 28/12/2011 21:02

I love the stuff and it's the sort of thing I'd put in party bags. I wouldn't buy it as a regular treat for my kids though as I imagine it's full of enumbers - although i couldn't be 100% sure of that fact. I'd also expect someone not to give my child something if I've asked them not to. However I'm allowed to eat all the popping chocolate orange I can!!
