To stalk my husband using Find My Iphone

That's it really. I know his password, so can log on to the internet at any time and locate his iphone (and therefore him).
He is aware I know his password and actually suggested that I can use it to know where he is when he goes out kayaking (he takes his phone with him).
However, I'm using it at the mo to see what pub he's gone too after his work xmas do....
So, AIBU to 'stalk' him or is it ok?. My Mum thinks its a bit stalker-ish.
BTW, there are no trust issues here, I'm just stuck at home pregnant with a toddler so its just another way to pass the time (apart from MN obviously). It also means I don't have to call him every couple of hours to find out whether he's coming home, so surely its a win-win?

I'm sure the OP has found her husband by now!!

AndABigBirdInaPearTree · 21/12/2012 13:01

LOL I didn't even notice the date!

SarahWarahWoo · 21/12/2012 13:05

Stalker alert!! I am home with a newborn and wouldn't dream of doing this, my DH is about to hit the boozer. If you are bored then aibu on mumsnet is a great way to take up the time.........

(if you go into labour call him)

ErikNorseman · 21/12/2012 13:17

Meh - as long as he knows you have his password and that you do it, it's fine.

foreverondiet · 21/12/2012 13:22

I think its fine if your DH is ok with it.....

BelaLugosisShed · 21/12/2012 13:24

I use it nearly every day, DH has no phone signal at work, he's 40 miles away and I check him from 4.30 pm to see if he's on his way home, otherwise I would have no idea when to start cooking, he shows up on it about 40 minutes from home .
I also used it to freak him out when he was away with work a few weeks ago - I saw where he was, looked on the restaurant's website and texted him to tell him what he was eating from the menu ( I was right) - what's creepy about that?

I call it stalk my husband rather than find my friends, DD won't let me put her on ( spoilsport) .
The other person involved does have to agree to it, you can't just check up on anyone you know. Hmm

It could quite literally save someone's life too in say an accident/emergency.

I was gutted when DS1 lost his iphone. I loved tracking him on Find my iPhone. Shame it can't find the bloody thing when it's turned off!

cinnamonnut · 21/12/2012 13:30

It is a bit weird but I can see why you do it - I'd be tempted to Xmas Grin

LaCiccolina · 21/12/2012 13:35

I love find friends. It's just me and dh on it. He visits customers from office so I can guess whether to call txt etc and how appropriate it might be. I like tracking progress home as I can't wait to see him.

I also found it useful on his work do as me and oyster knew where he was, he had no blooming clue. He rolled in at 2, passed out in bathroom. Least I knew it was him (the little blue light was pulsing over house so i knew hed made it indoors/garden) before I clobbered him as an intruder at 4 when I went for wee and fell over him.

KenLeeeeeeeInnaSantaHat · 21/12/2012 13:39

I'd be majorly freaked out if DH did that to me!

Sallyingforth · 21/12/2012 14:40

Not sure why the emphasis on iPhones. You can do this with any Android smartphone.

BOFingSanta · 21/12/2012 14:42

I do it all the time. It's a boon when you've got teenagers. I'm quite open about it.

FrustratedSycamoreSnowflake · 21/12/2012 15:22

Me and DH do this all the time. I know he is where he says he is, as he knows the isolated route I walk the dogs.

Jins · 21/12/2012 16:05

We've done it a couple of times but it's not something I'd do all the time. It's usually to find each other when we're out and about as he tends to go off wandering while I'm shopping. I also find it reassuring when he's off rambling in the countryside but thankfully it's not been used for that purpose yet
