Is it just me but wtf is up with the posters for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, a film that purports to deplore violence against women? They show the main female character topless (unless you count nipple jewellery as clothing) with the male character behind her, fully clothed, natch.

Ffs I walked my kids past this to see Arthur Christmas. I feel a strongly worded letter to the cinema coming on.

YANBU at all - another example of Hollywood fucking things up totally

Wow, that is unbelievably inappropriate.

I mean, I can't think of any film that needs to be advertised by a topless woman... but this particular character, in this film? That is so wrong.

just received acknowlegement of my complaint from ASA.

it's a fairly pain-free process to complain.

I came across this women for the first time yesterday (the film producer, not the blogger)

So another fantastic example of how the media portrayal of women is damaging for all of us.

If you google killing us softly you should be able to find a lot more information on her work and films.

on the film itself, Isaw some of the interview with the director Mr Finch. He sounded utterly under-whelmed by the film. Struggled to see the sense in Blomqvist and Salander having any sort of relationship ( which Iagree with), and he sounded like he accepted the offer to do the film because he was offered it - no particular drive or motivation - an easy pay day.
