A person posts about something which is important to them but may be fairly trivial in the scheme of things.
A poster responds basicially saying you are so lucky if that's all you have got to worry about.
They do not know about op's life and what challenges they have.

YANBU I dislike these sorts of replies In RL too , my dh is the worlds worst for it it causes a few chats in our house he always has to have it harder than everybody else ,
, what is trivial to some isnt for others , we are all entitled to our fears worries and feelings , and to come onto a forum and be belittled is a tad cruel imo , saying that though if somebody is being over sensitive or just a bit daft then its ok to tell them if you see what i mean ,

YANBU

And what's this obsession with the new buzz phrase "suck it up" ?

BarfTheHeraldAngelsHeave · 18/12/2011 16:15

YABU - the only time I see those responses are when someone is being utterly pathetic.

They normally go something like this - "I went to a friend's house and was served Jammy Dodgers. When she comes to my house I only ever give her home baked petit fours. AIBU to think that obviously doesn't care about our friendship as much as I do."

the abuse is getting worse, one posters was just called an idiot on another thread i was just reading, think it's a little uncalled for - still there are alot of know it alls on here now

Agree with exotic

JinglePosyPerkin · 18/12/2011 16:27

I agree with Barf. But then again, people with trivial little problems that they make sound like the end of the world piss me off in real life too to be fair. The only difference is I would know the person in RL & therefore more about them & their lives. I know sometimes people with big troubles will focus on one small trivial thing & really worry about it - it's a way of coping I think.

BarfTheHeraldAngelsHeave · 18/12/2011 17:08

Writing a really harsh response for no reason does annoy me, but until the majority of the posters are willing to speak out when someone does, I can't see things changing. Its why I periodically hide AIBU for my own sanity!
