Apart from a few people going 'what a shame' for 5 minutes.

Nobody has that much impact on a site do they?

There have been some high profile bannings and exits that I could mention in recent times, but it has made absolutely no difference to MN in my view.

I agree!!

Nobody is THAT great

sitandnatter · 16/12/2011 18:38

Whooooooooooooshhhhhhhhhhh moment. Grin

WorraLiberty · 16/12/2011 18:38

Of course it won't make a difference and I always suspect flouncers merely change their names anyway Xmas Grin

All this FB moaning is doing my nut in now

If anyone's worried about 'accidentally' clicking the button, just make sure you're not signed in to FB and then it can't post anything on your wall.

GypsyMoth · 16/12/2011 18:40

Who, of note, has been banned this year?

usualsuspect · 16/12/2011 18:40

No one will care

No one is that special

LEttletownofBOFlehem · 16/12/2011 18:41

I love that "of note" Xmas Grin

Get0rf · 16/12/2011 18:41

I don't mean this as a dig at anyone, btw.

Just a few threads at the moment re FB, and also the discussion of all the moldies nonsense. Plus there was a hoo-haa over a very prolific mner being banned last month, loads of people got into a huff about it (me included), but a couple of days go by and I can't say that anyone really has noticed a difference.

OP posts:
Get0rf · 16/12/2011 18:41

lolol at 'of note'

OP posts:
GypsyMoth · 16/12/2011 18:42

Last month? Who got banned?

usualsuspect · 16/12/2011 18:42

Its all forgotten after a few days ,MN carries on regardless

SnapesMistressofMerriment · 16/12/2011 18:43

Littlest DogsBestFriend/Valhalla come to mind. And the only flouncer I can think of is Beesimo.

Trills · 16/12/2011 18:45

YANBU

There is not a single poster who, if they left, MNHQ would actually be that bothered.

Individual other posters might care a little bit. But probably only a little.

GypsyMoth · 16/12/2011 18:46

Ah val, of course! Was thinking of mamazon but that was months ago

And mitmoo, we have lost her too

BendyBob · 16/12/2011 18:46

Agree. You're only as good as your last post.

I cringe on those threads where people plead with someone who's about to flounce, to stay. Or worse follow suite. Attention seeking.

They all sneak back anyway I reckon.

GypsyMoth · 16/12/2011 18:47

Missed a Grin at mitmoo there

BarfTheHeraldAngelsHeave · 16/12/2011 18:50

MN has thousands of posters, someone disappearing from one topic can cause a lot of angst for the regs in there, but makes not a ripple elsewhere.

No one is indispensable.

WTFlike · 16/12/2011 18:51

It's the rudeness that gets me. "Get fucking rid of it" etc. Eh, what? You think that's an appropriate way to get the owners of this FREE service, which you must love a lot, to listen to you??

Bonkers.

scottishmummy · 16/12/2011 18:52

it's all v histrionic and attention seeking
think they secretly want someone (anyone) to beg em to stay

ExitPursuedBySanta · 16/12/2011 18:53

Were we meant to be on strike? Shit. Missed that. Been busy effing working.

WTFlike · 16/12/2011 18:54

AND! And if you can't trust yourself not to click on a button, then don't post personal stuff on the internet.

I should be paid for this stuff.

Bohica · 16/12/2011 18:57

Yanbu it's a good read but at the end of the night, the computer is switched off and nothing has changed in RL.

GreenIceAndChristmasHam · 16/12/2011 19:01

Flouncy posts are the best though

Especially if there's a few Sad faces and 'thanks for all the memories' and stuff.

scottishmummy · 16/12/2011 19:03

indeed it's only words on a screen
learn to switch off and switch off and no poster is pivotal to mn.the gushy where is whatsherface is froth.people come and go,sometimes accompanied by it's all gorn tits up.week late business as usual

WorraLiberty · 16/12/2011 19:03

I like the flouncers who come back a day later and say "I only came back because of all the PMs I received, asking me to stay"

Yeah more like you sobered up calmed down and realised what a knob you made of yourself Xmas Grin

Trills · 16/12/2011 19:05

How did you see the PMs without coming back eh? That's the question for the faux flouncers
