Apologies for posting here but we really need to get traffic over to Campaigns

As per the title, sorry for putting this here but we appear to have a problem with traffic to the most recent Mumsnet Campaign which you can find here

MNHQ is highlighting Every Disabled Child Matters' campaign to email David Cameron over the cuts to benefits paid to families with disabled children. If you prefer to go direct to the campaign you can go here and to find out what is happening you can go here

Many thanks for your time.

ALSO.... Thanks once again all those who have signed the email, still PLENTY of time to do so if you can Wink

BUT

Does anyone else not find it strange that there is nothing else in the media other than the Independent article? I know for a fact that press offices at many charities for disabled children are putting this story out there yet NOBODY is publishing it.

Anyone got any idea how that might be achieved?

nothing on the news either, when I think of the coverage given to the students and the CB stuff it disgusts me

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 14/12/2011 10:51

great to see lots of people signing.

I can't believe there is no coverage of this either, it's so obviously a case of taking money from people who really desperately need it - not acceptable whatever your thoughts on politics and the economy.

wubblybubbly · 14/12/2011 12:36

There is definitely something odd going on with regards to news coverage on this.

The same happened with the plans for chemo patients to have to undergo back to work interviews to get ESA.

Indefensible policies like these seem to slip by the news entirely. How odd?

will do it!

I have sent the email. I can see why only about 3000 people have sent the email TBH. I don't think the arguments on the EDCM website were very convincing, maybe they should be looked into. Also some people don't think of learning disabilities as disability, thus don't really relate to the plight of the autistic/Asperger families. That might explain the lack of traffic on other threads. A lot of the posters on the other thread seem to have children on the autistic spectrum.

I am not trying to flame, I absolutely agree that disabled people (of all ages!) must be supported. I am just trying to come up with ideas how to get the public to support the campaign. FWIW, my family has various MH issues and disabilities, so I have countered some of these prejudices myself.

Meglet · 15/12/2011 21:05

done.

deepandcrispandsevenfold · 15/12/2011 21:59

sadly people don't care, they think disability is a life style choice(have seen it loads on mn) and obviously hanker for the days when disabled people wern't seen
