As per the title, sorry for putting this here but we appear to have a problem with traffic to the most recent Mumsnet Campaign which you can find here

MNHQ is highlighting Every Disabled Child Matters' campaign to email David Cameron over the cuts to benefits paid to families with disabled children. If you prefer to go direct to the campaign you can go here and to find out what is happening you can go here

Many thanks for your time.

everyone is struggling, no one is exempt

blame the previous govt for throwing our money around like smarties. There is only so much in the pot, if we give it out willy nilly to everyone who asks, there isnt any left regardless if you need it or not

Kova · 13/12/2011 19:22

Don't worry Olde we'll probably freeze to death next winter so that'll save a bit eh ?

iklboonkey · 13/12/2011 19:26

Done.

blackoutthexmaslights · 13/12/2011 19:27

oh the old blame labour arguement...

hazeyjane · 13/12/2011 19:28

everyone is struggling..

really, Olde, everyone? Is everyone struggling equally? Or is it possible that there are some people who do need more help and support, you know like people with disabled children on a low income, for example?

SanTEEClaus · 13/12/2011 19:31

You cannot tell me that DC and his friends are struggling. What horse shit.

So, no, not everyone is struggling.

Email sent.

Glitterknickaz · 13/12/2011 19:50

Olde, just how much do you think benefit fraud costs this country?
It's funny, the right wing media has shifted people's perceptions so very badly that figures being bandied about are £19 billion.
It's 19 times less than that.

Benefit fraud is bad. I hate it.

This isn't benefit fraud. This is money being taken away from DISABLED CHILDREN and their families.

Everyone else

This government sees fit to spend extra millions on the olympics. This government sees fit to spend billions on warmongering. This government sees fit to not recover between £14 and £150 billion via tax evasion by major corporations.

This government sees fit to take from those who cannot help themselves.

Please, please sign and don't listen to people spouting horseshit.

"everyone is struggling"
what crap DC and his mates aren't however much they chant we are all inthis together,
but hey if people want to be sucked into the government spin. their loss.
but when disability affets your family, which it will at sometime, and there is no help there, it will be too late to whinge.
(bumps thread)

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe
I've e-mailed. I added a bit at the bottom... "Please don't assume that because you personally didn't need Government help for your son, that others don't, they really do."

thats disgusting, absolutely shocking. Christ almighty - how can you be that snide about a dead child?

Esta3GG · 13/12/2011 23:36

I don't think LyingWitch's comment is disgusting at all - she isn't being snide about a child. She is just pointing out that because he and his missus are worth a bleedin' fortune they never had to worry about the expense of coping with a very sick child.
You'd think that Cameron would have empathy when it comes to the subject of children with disabilities. But apparently not.

GoingForGoalWeight · 13/12/2011 23:45

I took lying's post to mean the PM didn't NEED financial assistance as much as most do as he is wealthy. Nothing to do with his dead Son, that would be evil and unecessary i agree, but it isn't the case.

wubblybubbly · 13/12/2011 23:46

Have signed up. sorry I missed it earlier.

GoingForGoalWeight · 13/12/2011 23:46

I'm off to bed OP but i shall e-mail tomorrow and i shall ask other friends on another site to e-mail also :)

My disabled child and me, his Mum and Carer will be affected too :(

EauDeLaPoisson · 13/12/2011 23:50

I actually agree with Trois, to bring his dead child into your own personal agenda is just beyond the pale. You will not win his support by stooping that low I can assure you.

tallwivglasses · 13/12/2011 23:55

It's terribly sad - but relevant. As someone's said on here before - how many people voted for him thinking he'd have empathy for the likes of us?

deepandcrispandsevenfold · 14/12/2011 07:06

no one is tlking about his child, just the fact that he is clueless as to what it is like to struggle with the day to day care of a disabled child. he was able to buy in care, so did not have sleepless nights and worn out days.

Glitterknickaz · 14/12/2011 08:10

I certainly didn't bring the Prime Minister's family situation into this.
Francis Maude on the other hand did, when he visited me before the election and I told him how frightened I was of the cuts affecting us.

He said we'd be protected because of this family situation.

That's all I want to say about it really.

I have signed.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 14/12/2011 09:24

What I meant was that David Cameron is in a priviledged position of wealth and will never know what it is like to struggle financially, waiting for the axe to fall.

It's not about his son being dead, it was about the day to day struggles of caring for a disabled child. I doubt he'll read the e-mail, it's a standard one, but I think the meaning was clear. The death of a child, I would imagine, hits any parent like a sledgehammer, rich or poor, without bias.

Thank you Esta and GoingforGoalWeight.
