to think that Katie Price should not blame the TV cameras for the breakup of her marriage to Peter Andre

I'm sick to death reading about this pathetic person who wants to blame the TV cameras for the breakdown of her marriage. Having watched some of her programmes she came across as a vile human being, cant see how a TV camera that you have invited along can make you a different person you are who you are, simple. AIBU.

Alex reminds me of Bowser from Mario Kart.

I have just realised that.

silverfrog · 07/12/2011 16:53

the thing is, hired help gives me a break from the physical side of things.

the changing nappies, cooking, constant watching side of things.

which, imo, is actually the easier side of having a disabled child. not easy, by any means - it's never fun physically caring for someone - but easier, as long as your own physical health is ok.

but the rest of it is enormous. battling other people's opinions and comments about your child (and let's face it, she's had bucketloads of that); working out how to get the best possible education/health care etc (don't kid yourself that anyone actually helps you out here - you come home with a disabled child, and you work it all out yourself); battling constantly to keep on top of everything you need to know/plan for within your family.

yes, money can make life more comfortable. but not easier. not in my (firsthand) experience.

BaublesandCuntingCarolSingers · 07/12/2011 16:56

at Bowser! Xmas Grin

DoesNotGiveAFig · 07/12/2011 16:58

I don't believe you can classify Katie Price as having had a hard life.

I am sorry you are struggling so much with your child/ren, I hope it gets easier for you.

MrsChristmasDB · 07/12/2011 17:01

Baubles

It was your 'ram-raiding on a scooter' comment.

I knew Bowser reminded me of someone, now I know who ! Xmas Grin

Sevenfold · 07/12/2011 17:01

she does not have a hard life ffs.

silverfrog you are right money is a cusion, it does help as it means if you have enough AKA DC you can buy in care and don't have to wait 6 months for a bit of equipment,,,,,,,but it doesn't stop the worry and all the other things that a parent of a disabled child feels. but tbh I think KP is very like DC and spends little time with her son.

silverfrog · 07/12/2011 17:01

I am not struggling with my children (don't mean to sound arsey - just stating a fact)

I do struggle with the ridiculous system we have where there are not enough Sn school places, where we have had to move house 3 times in the last 3 years, in order to secure decent education for dd1. I also struggle with the stupidity of some members of the genral public, who pity me for having my daughter. and trying to get her health care even looked at is a non-starter unless we go private - that is another farce.

but none of those struggles are with my children. they arise because of a system which tries it's best to marginalise and ignore disabilities.

BaublesandCuntingCarolSingers · 07/12/2011 17:02

I love Yoshi. I wanted a real one when Super Mario first came out! Xmas Grin

MrsChristmasDB · 07/12/2011 17:05

Oooh, can you get a cuddly Yoshi ?

He's quite a speedy little racer. The best one is Luigi. Don't know why it's called Mario when he's not the best racer.

Hate Rainbow Road. With a passion. Can never go really fast without falling off. Grin

BaublesandCuntingCarolSingers · 07/12/2011 17:06

I hate Rainbow Road too. Makes me feel all off balance and wobbly.

MrsChristmasDB · 07/12/2011 17:07

Baubles, quick !

Get thyself to ebay.

Yoshi slippers ! Under soft toys/stuffed animals.

Xmas Grin
MrsChristmasDB · 07/12/2011 17:08

And a Yoshi backpack.

I may have to invest in the slippers.

BaublesandCuntingCarolSingers · 07/12/2011 17:09

Oh my lord DS would LOVE those! Xmas Grin Might have to go slightly over the christmas budget for him to get those! They're fab!

MrsChristmasDB · 07/12/2011 17:09

They're great aren't they ! Xmas Grin

GingerPunch · 07/12/2011 21:40

I think KP now realises how much she really does love PA, but this saga of their lives continues to dominate the newspapers and magazines and it is pathetic, one minute she blames the media for intrusion but the next she has camera teams following her around the globe.

OP posts:
YouOldSlag · 07/12/2011 22:16

I think the difference between KP bringing "uncles" into her kids lives and PA having "aunties" (snigger) is that PA doesn't move them in. KP moves them in within days of meeting them (exhibit A Leandro Penna).

Kids get all used to Mummy being loved up and having a new uncle then Phhht- he's gone (not quite making a phht nopise, but YKWIM) never to be seen again.

BaublesandCuntingCarolSingers · 07/12/2011 22:19

This is true, YouOldSlag (that's a marvellous name, btw) She is one of those true idiots who believes in lurve at first sight, the lust wears off and she realises it ain't true lurve, then ships 'em back out again. She needs to apply the brakes with the next himbo.

YouOldSlag · 08/12/2011 09:53

Thanks Baubles! I agree, most people don't take their one night stand back to live with their kids! (unlike KP).

No matter what people think of PA, he hasn't moved any of them in and doesn't go trawling nightclubs in skimpy clothing every time he's single again! (see KP in yesterday's Daily Fail).

TimothyClaypoleLover · 08/12/2011 10:03

KP is entitled to a night out once in a while, just as any single mother is. I am no big fan of hers but think it unfair how the media portrays her in comparison to PA. No-one has a go at PA for having nights out as a single father. KP is the more newsworthy of the two which is why she is splattered across the tabloids every time she sets foot outside her house.

YouOldSlag · 08/12/2011 10:09

PA is photographed on occasional nights out. He is not skimpily dressed, not on the pull, not pissed up, and not taking strangers home like KP did 2 days ago.

Yesterday, KP was out in nightclubs, pissed up, lairy, took a bloke home. Today she is out and about in LA dressed as a hooker. If she didn't do it all the time we wouldn't see it all the time.

Whatmeworry · 08/12/2011 10:09

KP is the more newsworthy of the two

Which of course she goes out of her way to avoid....

TimothyClaypoleLover · 08/12/2011 10:14

Men do not tend to be skimpily dressed generally (only women seem to be criticised for what they wear or lack of) so not sure why that is relevant as surely anyone can go out dressed how they like. I personally find PA's tight fitting v neck t-shirts more offensive!!

Katie Price doesn't struggle with any of these issues - she can pay for Harvey to have all the health benefits and education benefits he needs without having to move and fight the system for them. She is above the system in that sense which makes her life different to yours, and in a way easier than your average parent of a disabled child.
