Just chips, mind, cos we are having a proper healthy dinner this evening.

They are 8 and nearly 11 and I have never done it before

So its ok, isn't it?

And wibu to have just chippy chips too? even though I could lose a few stone pounds?

Of course YANBU - I'm not sure I get the "Just chips, mind" ? adding fish would make it more healthy not less...

I was thinking DD could have some fish and chips from the chippy this week and she's not even 6mo...

HeidiKat · 03/12/2011 14:18

Deep fried battered pizza is the best thing ever.

bibbitybobbitybloodyaxe · 03/12/2011 14:33

Oh well, they were yum.

Yes, we have had chip shop chips before!! but only at dinner time, with fish, or chicken or whatever, so that it becomes a proper meal.

Just chips (and tomato sauce), at lunch time, is a new one for us.

Will try not to make a habit of it for all you who solemnly said its ok but only occasionally.

Ds who is 10 only wants the fish from the chippy, never the chips!

coldwed · 03/12/2011 14:38

What is wrong with chips?

WantsDailyMale · 03/12/2011 14:38

YABU you should give 'em fish too! Anyway, of course it's OK - you should support local businesses! And fish is full of er...vitamins.... and stuff.

picnicbasketcase · 03/12/2011 14:40

Mushy peas are just plain wrong, why ruin some lovely peas by turning them into a paste? That's what your teeth are for. Curry sauce though, is bloody lovely.

I really want chip shop chips fro dinner tonight now Smile

Someone posted on MN once that her family of 4 shared a large portion of chips and bulked it out with salad to make a proper meal. I remember shaking my head and thinking 'You are missing the WHOLE point!' Grin

blackeyedsanta · 03/12/2011 14:44

you are being bloody unreasonable in my opinion. if you are buying chips as a treat for your dc's and then post about it so everybody wants some you are extremely, totally unreasonable.

I WANT CHIPS TOO!!!

valiumredhead · 03/12/2011 14:45

Personally I would've bought fish as well and not cooked tonight

Sparklingbaubles · 03/12/2011 14:47

Arf at 'salad and chips'. Grin

trumpton · 03/12/2011 14:48

I want chips, cheese and gravy. No . I NEED chips, cheese and gravy. So,So bad and yet , strangely, So, So good.

But have just managed half a bowl of soup so might not be quite ready to start eating agin with CHIPS, CHEESE and GRAVY.

Bourbonchops · 03/12/2011 14:49

Oh, phew! I thought you had never had chip shop at all in 11 years. That would be serious determination.
Glad everyone enjoyed them.

valiumredhead · 03/12/2011 14:49

Ewwwwwwwww cheese and chips is WRONG on so many levels. Gravy, on chips from the chippy? Do they sell that at the chippy or do you mean Bisto gravy? I am sure our chippy doesn't sell gravy!

thefurryone · 03/12/2011 14:52

YABU unless you had them as a chip butty Grin

Nothing beats a nice carb sandwich once in a while.

Sparklingbaubles · 03/12/2011 14:53

Our chippy sells gravy. But the best gravy is from KFC. Blush

StepAwayFromTheMincePies · 03/12/2011 15:11

however curry sauce and chips is lush Grin

Meglet · 03/12/2011 15:14

yanbu. We have chip shop chips once a month.

It's the best meal on a rainy day if you can't be arsed to cook.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 03/12/2011 15:14

Bugger you! I want chips now!!!

Ifancyashandy · 03/12/2011 15:21

I adore mushy peas! Chip butty (with butter) and mushy peas is food of the gods
