A friend of my mums was blind from the age of 4 yo.

How fecking pig-shit thick of her to have a guide dog who enabled her to live independantly and get to work. Yes she works full time even with a very debilitating disability.

Like MWB22, I have two dogs, a BSc, MSc and am halfway through a PhD. So I'm not sure your theory stands up.

OTOH, I'd prefer to have cats, but DH hates them (and is also quite intelligent, but only has a BA).

I have the most intelligent dog the world has ever encountered. He is a lateral thinking, scenario planning, problem solving evil genius. I have to be able to out-think him just to prevent him from attempting world domination on a daily basis. . I like to think that makes me super intelligent but Really, if I was that smart I would have twigged why his previous owners wanted rid. So, I have to conclude that YANBU.

I would normally defend my dogs but have just skidded across the kitchen in a runny shit with bare feet so have to say you are a very reasonable person.

YABU. However, if you had said people who own particular breeds of dog are thick, whilst people who own other particular breeds of dog are intelligent, then I would agree with you totes.

My MIL loves dogs. She always has at least two.
