Went to the doctor this morning as have been unwell (im 18 weeks pg). DD came with me and she has just finished a course of horrible strong antibiotics for throat and ear infection.

Just my luck that she decides to explode and fill her nappy in the waiting room which is very busy and she stinks so off i go to change her I had to put the dirty nappy in the bin in the patients toilet as-sorry tmi here-it was liquid and couldnt have been plopped down the loo like i normally would do and the nappy just taken home in a nappy bag.I had forgotten the nappy bags too today so couldnt even bag it before i threw it away.

I went back to waiting room when a lady came in after me complaining loudly about somebody having thrown a dirty nappy in the toilet bin and how disgusting it was she went on and on and on about it and admittedly it was smelly but i dont see what choice i had, yes i could have taken it home but that would have meant taking it back into the waiting room with me and sitting there with it (and believe me it was bad) for half an hour before the doctor called me for my appt which surely would have been worse and offensive to a lot more people.

She went on so much and most of the people had seen me go off to change dd so knew it was me and they were saying yes, its terrible isnt it and tutting.

I dont think there was much i could have done in this situation but the reaction of people has made me wonder if i was being unreasonable ?

I think it would've been pretty gross to carry the stinking nappy into the waiting room to ask for a bag. It there are no lidded nappy bins provided I can't see that you had any other option. I've never seen anyone carrying a nappy to an outside bin either. The opinions stated on here quite often don't match what I observe in RL.

I hope you and DD feel better soon.
