dh thinks i am u.

i think i'm not.

i have at least a year left to pay for my boring, practical, silver, plastic box on wheels.

it is my car. i pay for it, it rarely gets driven by dh.

his car is also boring. and a bit old and crap so is he

next time i want a fun, pretty, silly vehical. he thinks as his boring, old car is crap i should get a newer boring practical car.

i say bollocks to that and if he wants to do boring then he can.

can get a very good condition one (engine wise) for about 4K if you buy privately rather than from a dealer who's refurbed and customized the interior to within an inch of it's life! if you don't mind a bit of cracked leather/dash (which IMO is just part of the character) they don't have to cost too much

If you like that, what about <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.ca/imgres?q=carmen+ghia&hl=en&sa=X&biw=1366&bih=705&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=lDi1bJY1HIWq5M:&imgrefurl=ztalk.proboards.com/index.cgi%3Fboard%3Dzgallery%26action%3Ddisplay%26thread%3D11928&docid=whilx78ru11iqM&imgurl=i126.photobucket.com/albums/p90/mitsumati/redKarmann_Ghia.jpg&w=472&h=292&ei=XcjSTu6YEoWmiQKsxdH6Cw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=609&vpy=201&dur=229&hovh=176&hovw=286&tx=120&ty=95&sig=112919239939396177706&page=1&tbnh=147&tbnw=208&start=0&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this?

Get a 2 nd hand classic sports car, no depreciation and often cheaper to run than modern cars. (DH has an MG convertible, costs very little to insure and run - and you are treated totally different in those cars by other motorists)

NinkyNonker · 28/11/2011 07:44

With the cost of fuel set to keep in climbing (another 8p a litre min next yr apparently) why would anyone want to expose themselves to that more than they have to?

We have one car, not hugely used, an Audi A6 estate...it is huge but so fuel efficient, attractive too as estates go. Can fit 2 dogs, pushchair, 2 adults, babies etc plus all stuff for time away. Practical doesn't have to be unattractive/boring. If we need another car when/if we move DH is going to convert a car to electric, they make far more sense as town runarounds.

NinkyNonker · 28/11/2011 07:44

But if it is your car and you pay for it, your choice.
