to buy a pretty frivolous car rather than a boring practical one?

dh thinks i am u.

i think i'm not.

i have at least a year left to pay for my boring, practical, silver, plastic box on wheels.

it is my car. i pay for it, it rarely gets driven by dh.

his car is also boring. and a bit old and crap so is he

next time i want a fun, pretty, silly vehical. he thinks as his boring, old car is crap i should get a newer boring practical car.

i say bollocks to that and if he wants to do boring then he can.

he may be old and boring and a bit crap but he's going up the shop to get me a bottle of red blessim.

this is most certainly not a midlife crisis. i am far far far too young for that.

i juts want a bit of fun in my deeply boring and un-fun life. and if that means driving in a fun car then so-bloody-be-it.

Now the little roadster is my hobby and I do track days, rally days and help to moderate a specialist web site/car club.

I kept my grey plastic box style car for work and boring stuff.

It depends what you both mean. You can find cars with a bit of poke, fun colours, nippy but not arsemobiles. You can get a sports package for a Honda Civic, FFS. Then there are arsemobiles.

I love that link atyourcervix, do you need to consider booster seats etc for children? If not then stuff him tell DH in a calm and considered manner that you will do what you like.

I don't need to consider the brats at all as I'd rather not drive them anywhere. therefore i only need 2 seats, one for me and one for the dog and my handbag.

wheter i can afford it depends on whether i win the lottery or the premium bonds between now and jauary 2013,

but i am v glad to here they are nice and economical and micraesque. i shall use that in my persuasion.

AYC I'm sorry to say it but they drive like a cow. You might as well get a tax exempt classic and develop very strong arm muscles

I wouldn't ditch my bug for all the tea in China. DP and I harbour a long-range plan to get a big diesel motorhome so we can tow it to shows when we're rich and have a family Grin
