...to want to eat my food with a spoon? Not just soup, all my food.

Spoons make more sense for most food. I keep wanting to get a spoon instead of bothering with a fork. I often do use a spoon if I'm on my own. I know you're going to tell me this is socially unacceptable, but why?

Risotto, curries, pasta bake, anything with a sauce... the list goes on. I actually just ate a steak pie with a spoon, which is a new lowhigh. I'm calling it sensible and practical. You might call it lazy and slovenly. Whatevs.

Pick up a spoon and join me. You know you want to.

In some cultures in Asia it is not acceptable to put knives on the tables- spoons and forks only. All food is chopped up during the cooking process. One man said to me knives are for barbarians and chefs only.

I love using a spoon whenever I can get away with it. And always for curries.

Why do you care (or even notice!) though Mumbling? No skin off your nose is it? Drink your coffee however you like and leave others to enjoy theirs.

Used to use a spoon all the time at uni. Dp raised an eyebrow when I tried it and wouldn't want dd to pick it up ! I prefer a teaspoon too, makes the food last longer.

The only time I use a tablespoon is with soup. Otherwise it's a teaspoon. And it is because I have a very small mouth.

I do, however, use a fork when it is not a liquid based meal. I cannot imagine using a spoon to eat a steak, for example.

To be pedantic, 10 teaspoons does not equal 5 tablespoons as there are 3 teaspoons to the tablespoon.

I use a spoon too, i find it weird if people try to eat things like rice & curry with a knife and fork it doesn't go!! might try the teaspoon thing, actually i think Alan sugar was peddling that idea the other week on graham norton, as a special small spoon diet
