Book token advert

She looks about 8 or 9 - surely The Gruffalo is aimed more at 3-5 year olds?

You have too much time on your hands. Maybe she likes it, maybe it is just for publicity, but either way, leave her to it.

purpleturtletoise · 22/11/2011 20:58

You're never too old for the Gruffalo! Didn't you know?

Had that very conversation with somebody over a Gruffalo handpuppet in a bookshop the other day.

DSM · 22/11/2011 20:59

Wow. You really do have too much time on your hands.

She looks about 6 to me too

BadDayAtTheOrifice · 22/11/2011 21:00

I love the Gruffalo.
Can I not read it now as I'm socially perceived as being 'too old' for it?

MmeLindor. · 22/11/2011 21:00

Maybe she is re-living her childhood, she has a smile on her face.

And the book was good.

RomanKindle · 22/11/2011 21:00

I love The Gruffalo and I'm 27.

HippoPottyMouth · 22/11/2011 21:00

Is this a clever ruse to get us talking about the campaign? Hmm

HecateGoddessOfTheNight · 22/11/2011 21:01

She looks toddy to me, probably 5 or 6.

Besides.

She'll be a model.

soandsosmummy · 22/11/2011 21:01

she looks about the same age as my dd - 6

ElderberrySyrup · 22/11/2011 21:01

She's planning to read it to her baby brother later that day.

mybrainsthinkingfuckyousanta · 22/11/2011 21:02

I am 40 and cannot put the gruffalo sounds book down - nor can my baby's much older sister. You're as young as the book you feel...Wink

BerryMojito · 22/11/2011 21:02

I'm considerably further over 21 than I care to think about and I still love to read The Gruffalo (although I do prefer Room on the Broom!).

auntiepicklebottom2 · 22/11/2011 21:03

yabu, i love the Gruffalo

SacreLao · 22/11/2011 21:03

YABVU the gruffalo is the best book ever and you are never too old for it.

Aha oh ho didn't you know?
You're never too old for The Gruffalo!

ClapTrap · 22/11/2011 21:05

YABU She looks about 6 and even if she were older, there is no simpler joy of revisiting books that you remember fondly.

Clawdy · 22/11/2011 21:05

Three to five-Gruffalo loved as it's read aloud to them. Six onwards-loved as they read it unaided. Quite a lot of words, you know! Smile

Melpomene · 22/11/2011 21:05

too much time? Only took me a minute to make a post, no longer than it took you to reply!

It is a press advert, posed by a model - I'm pretty sure the concept of basing an ad on the Gruffalo came first and the book wasn't chosen by the girl. It just struck me as a bit odd because I would expect a child of that age to be more interested in chapter books than picture books. My own dds are 6 and 8 and the model looked closer to 8 to me.
