AIBU to cut off the bits that have been in direct contact with his mouth and use the rest?

He was very neat. He ate one side, so it kind of looks the side of a 50p piece IYSWIM. He only ate about an 8th of the volume of the cake. How wasteful it would be to ditch the rest!

However, I've been told this may be skanky and gross.

BTW, my poor dog has been in the vets on a drip for 24 hours due to this little escapade. But he's fine now we hope.

'king hell. I'm going to be deleted twice in one day Shock !

Thank God that I refrained from calling someone a cunt faced mother fucker on another thread earlier else I would probably be banned by now Grin

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 22/11/2011 18:41

HTH - which thread was that on? Sounds worth a read!!

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 22/11/2011 18:42

I think OO was joking HTH.

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 22/11/2011 18:43

The spread sheet is taking a lot of updating tonight.

HalfTermHero · 22/11/2011 18:45

Grin Chipping, I agree.

I won't name threads though else I will be calling the op of it the above mentioned profanity by stealth!

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 22/11/2011 18:47

Oh HTH you hadn't said it was the OP of the other thread, I assumed it was just one of the posters on that thread. I wouldn't want to get you in twubble.

ObviouslyOblivious · 22/11/2011 18:48

Ah feck it, I'd eat it (actually I wouldn't because i don't like Xmas cake, but dd would eat it)

DD has shared ice creams with the dog (one lick at a time) and she's fine.

(remembers the Xmas day that me and dad discovered the cat had eaten the arse end of the turkey - we filled the hole with stuffing and never told mum)

Blatherskite · 22/11/2011 20:33

I think it was just a timing thing - like when every poo mentioning thread went poof last week after our latest visit from the poo troll.

OO doesn't seem bothered so no harm done.

What I want to know is if she's decided whether or not to eat that bloody cake yet Grin

Pixel · 22/11/2011 20:49

I can't bear it when people let dogs lick their faces, it's vile. I would eat the cake though if it had had a trim. I don't think the germs could travel through the alcohol. Mind you, I'm basing that on my cake which I've been feeding weekly with alcohol since October. Wink

ObviouslyOblivious · 22/11/2011 21:13

I'm going to eat it. We have complete family agreement only three of us like the cake anyway so everyone is aware of the situation. It's had one feeding of alcohol already.

LiliPinkiePie · 22/11/2011 21:35

It'll be fine, dog saliva is actually antibacterial. A study even showed it can kill e-coli.
Don't get me wrong, it would be gross to eat it. But it won't hurt you.

bytheMoonlight · 23/11/2011 09:26

I'm not sure that's true LiliPinkiePie.

If I have exzema n my face and hound of a dog jumps up I have to stop her licking my face as I know from experience, her dirty mouth could infect the eczema.

Gross

OatcakeCravings · 23/11/2011 13:22

Put the rest of the cake in the bin and just don't have an Xmas cake this year. It is pretty disgusting to eat it and even worse if you are going to serve it to guests. Gads!
